I read Extension du domaine de la lutte 5 times already, I need new stuff.Something like a guy reflecting on his life and how things never worked would be good, I would write a book like this if I had talent. It would end up a bit episodic but what can I do.
>>25413840That's not it.
>>25413849You sure? No Longer Human fits pretty well into the "guy reflecting on his life and how things never worked". Notes From Underground is another classic that fits quite well.
confederacy of dunces was the goto pick 15 years ago.
>>25413856>You sure? No Longer Human fits pretty well into the "guy reflecting on his life and how things never worked". Notes From Underground is another classic that fits quite well.I read both (and most from the list), and that's not exactly what I'm talking about. These books are about depressed, negative, hopeless or even lazy people. They are not complete losers despite not being depressed or negative. I want books about complete losers who tried really hard but never achieve anything. Most of these novels the main character has lots of sex, married, some are rich, some are only depresses because they got poor. That's not what I'm looking for, I'm talking about complete losers.Of course, losers like to read this kind of book because they can self-insert as the rambling depressed/cynical/angry guy, but the characters in these books are not losers for the reasons I mentioned before. That's what I'm looking for.
>>25413866I see. There aren't a lot of those because good books will have some kind of character progression, things will happen to the character that changes them. If you want to scratch that itch of "I tried everything and nothing ever good happened to me", you're better off reading depressive and hopeless subreddits where people vent about their lives. The only long-form thing I can think of that fits your criteria would be Elliot Rogers "My Twisted World", but you've probably already read that one.
>>25413889I did, but I wanted a somewhat normal main character. He was rich and probably mentally ill.
>>25413889>Elliot Rogers "My Twisted World"God that faggot was insufferable. How does someone end up so unbelievably pathetic and yet deserving of scorn rather than pit? Not to mention his ridiculous persecution complex. I suspect his father, on learning of his nature, didnt beat him nearly enough.
>>25413974>How does someone end up soCombination of autism, social anxiety and under-socialization due to neglect. Most people with his psychological markup don't end up coping with grandiosity and outward aggression though, they turn it inward and self-destruct eventually.
>>25413974>How does someone end up so unbelievably pathetic and yet deserving of scorn rather than pitKill a bunch of innocent people
>>25414043I meant even before it
>>25413787Does Ecce Homo count
>>25413866The main character of Whatever has lots of sex. The main character of Whatever is not an incel. He's just redpilled on women.
>>25414785Sure, but there's Tisserand.
>>25413858/thread
>>25415226Then why were you complaining about novels where the main character is similar to the main character of Whatever?
>>25415512No Tisserand equivalent in these novels. No longer human has nothing to do with Whatever.
