This is what does my head in because they praise him as a filmmaker. What the fuck could that possibly mean when any of the key skills in isolation is something he lacks. Even positive reviews tried to make his inaudible dialogue mixing and soundtracks full of BLAAAAARP fart noises as positives. He can’t edit for shit and if you saw similar work in a b movie it’d be key evidence of a talentless hack. Can’t even follow simple editing rules to where people have a clue where things are in space, he gets praise for action movies? Where the action is incomprehensible and ideally intercut with a completely different narrative happening elsewhere (I swear this happens in all of them) to really gut the pacing. Dialogue writing highlights like “big guy 4 u”.
