What are the best books on economics and wealth building that explain how interest rates work and how to use them to make smart saving or spending decisions? I’ve struggled to find good recommendations, and the ones I have read haven't been very helpful.

just take your income and put half of it into savings. your savings should grow above inflation at 5-10% a year if you decide to invest in something like land, property, or stocks. at that compounding rate, you just need to keep adding money for the first 30 years, after that the next 30 gives you 3 doublings and you can go from 500k to 1 million to 2 million and retire comfortably in your 60s. assuming young and were helped by your parents.

it's crucial to start early because if you start in your 30s for example you will see the returns in your 80s, which is a long time to wait.
