Especially Naptha and Settembrini's discussions were peak comedy gold. Why did Naptha do it bros? Peeperkorn was based.Currenly reading Pale Fire, Kinbote is really interesting. Why does he talk about the loud music in the foreward? He even says that a Canto is "Your favorite", who the hell is "Your", ain't like the foreward is addressed to someone? >Pale FireThough I would suspect Kinbote killed Shade, but we shall see. The notes he inserts about Zembla and its politcs, its kings etc. are all really fun to go through. He has this nice note where he is describing how Gradus is coming from Zembla to Shade, as Shade is writing the Poem, which has some really good prose.>LeskovJust ordered that NYRB edition of Leskov's stories. The last truly fun book I read was Gravity's Rainbow half a year ago. I've been chasing that high ever since, unsuccessfully. I think I'll pick up the Sot-Weed Factor + son&xon once I'm done with my current read.

finished the iliad today and i gotta say i didnt anticipate how FUN this book would be. i thought it would be semi interesting book that im reading because "its a classic" but the amount of action and actually interesting characters was something that i absolutely did not expect. im guessing that i will like the oddysey even more but i want to take a break from poetry, atleast for now.
