I just read it, and I can't help but disagree completely with Atticus Finch
>>
One of Capote's lesser works.
>>
>>25425102
The Maycomb people were right, its simple nature
>>
>>25425102
bluds really think we are going to fall for this obvious bullshit kek. like some hick alabama town full of poverty and lice produced two famous authors at the same time
>>
The book she actually wrote was published in 2015 under the title "Go Set a Watchman." -- Atticus is not quite the same in her original version.
>>
I thought the costume was funny in the book but its even more hilarious on film
https://youtu.be/FROgIia2cb8
>>25425135
What is it like? Now I'm interested
>>
>>25425135
Nice, that's how it should be. He was forced by the court, but it doesn't mean he shared the sentiment
>>
>>25425084
Was this a Nobel prize winner?
>>
>>25425198
No but I think it won some other stuff
>>
>>25425136
kek is that a ham?
>>
That's what happen when you read nigger loving literature, you become a nigger lover
>>
>>25425356
On the contrary, it made me dislike Atticus even more because he and his kind are the reason we live in the shittiest diverse and faggy timeline possible.

but it had the best named character in American literature, Boo Radley. Try to say that silly name without smiling, you can't!
>>
>>25425356
I fail to understand why this book is so beloved or famous.
>>
>>25425460
You know, anon
>>
>>25425084
What was the point of this? It was so boring
>>
>>25425460
Part of the nu-American civic religion along with saints MLK, Rosa Parks, Barack Obama, and George Floyd
>>
>>25425840
I wondered why it became mandatory in schools
>>
>>25425084
What did you disagree with, anon?
>>
>>25425084
I fail to understand why it became so famous. Also was Boo Radley a pedo?
>>
>>25425128
The apple doesn't fall far from the tree, as they say.
>>
>>25425381
In the context of the book, the negro is innocent of the crime and is the victim of a foid's self-serving #metoo campaign. Broadly speaking, the book's message is about the primacy of justice, which is based. It also teaches that the negro race are akin to mockingbirds, i.e., that they are dumb beasts whose useful purpose is to entertain us with their presence and "sing their hearts out for us," which is also BASED. If you take issue with anything in particular that Atticus said, remember that his name is suspiciously close to "'atta cuck," a little too on the nose to be explained by sheer coincidence methinks.
>>
>>25426622
Honestly Atticus being a long nosed lawyer felt to me like a call to a specific tribe. But I wonder if the author was intentional with that
>>
>>25426622
Did anyone support Atticus and the guy, Tom I think?
>>
>>25426914
No, he was too liberal for my tastes
>>
>>25425136
kek is that a real costume?
>>
>>25426622
The rightoid whine-fest about this book and a handful of other books in elementary schools is happening for two reasons
>Rightoids resent their middle school teachers for making them read, carrying this "trauma" into adulthood
>Rightoids are historically hated and have to retreat into a bubble of cultural policing and vice signaling as the liberal left did in the early 2020's
What makes this movement "rightoid" instead of rightist is the fact that they despise any kind of discipline, have foucalt-ite pomo critiques of education (my teacher didnt let me play computer games, im oppressed!), and hate this fundamentally sympathetic and romantic depiction of the American South because it doesn't satisfy their libidinal nigger hate fantasies.
>>
>>25427112
>leftist satisfying his delusional rightoid hate
>>
>>25427112
I mean it makes sense, being forced to read this at school feels like a humiliation ritual.
>>
>>25427112
In my defense, I was made to read it I two if not three times for different English classes.
>>
>>25427528
That must have sucked. I know of no literature that is enjoyable when forced
>>
>>25425084
thatr's the point, retard
It's written as a 'fuck you to racist White folk'

Most fictional books are like this - they all have an agenda
If it wasn't agenda driven it would have been neutral
>>
I wondered why it had so many prizes and acclaim and was mentioned on tv shows and movies. Now I know why, and I wish I hadn't wasted my time reading this woke piece.
>>
The only books I never finished in high school were this and Siddhartha. It felt so fucking preachy and I don't even have a problem with black people like most of the fags in this thread.
>>
>>25427997
It actually made me racist due to how preachy it is
>>
>>25427988
You fell for the marketing, anon
>>
>>25428108
I know and I regret it ever since
>>
what do you disagree with him on, specifically?
>>
>>25428255
Not everybody's born equal and not everybody is deserving of protection.
>>
>>25428883
What is your argument for that?
>>
>>25429122
Someone born in poverty won't suddenly grow and become an example of elegance and good manners
>>
>>25425840
It's basically the secular Bible. Atticus Finch is a surrogate Jesus to many atheists
>>
Harper Lee didn't write this piece of crap.
It was a manufactured piece of propaganda to push the civil rights agenda.
Two of her publishing company people essentially babysat her for 18 months dictating it to her and then Truman Capote was called in to give it a good ending.
The proof of this is of course that she never wrote anything else for the rest of her life.
Because she couldn't write
>>
>>25430078
Was Atticus atheist? I had no idea, he felt like he would suddenly recite the talmud given his work as a lawyer and his wiry long nosed physique
>>
>>25429972
But they can grow out of sheer will like Atticus, that's the point you're missing
>>
>>25430121
I thought the same
>>
>>25425084
Its just propaganda in book form. You feel for it, anon
>>
>>25430080
I could see it happening. Why is everything in this world so fake?
>>
>>25425084
He just preached common sense. What is so bad about defending your fellow man?
>>
>>25431031
His ideas are what caused the modern shitty world we live in
