as in, software, dedicated ereaders are a retarded scam
>>
>>25425394
not on linux
>>
>>25425398
Then readest. But not being on linux is a heresy.
>>
if you think ereaders are a scam then just read everything through calibre, its reader is better than what it used to be and it can read just about any file format under the sun
its like the vlc of reading

They all suck. The worst thing is when you bought an epub with all of the cutting edge features, videos, audio, etc. and realized no epub reader actually supports such a thing lol. And the one who supported it are now abandonware or removed from the internet.

Good lesson for everyone else, don't adapt the most modern cutting edge technology.

>bought an epub
thats your problem anon

I'm pleased with Readest now having tried it, thank you very much. I plan to switch to Linux whenever I have to change computers, there's just too much on the current one to bother with it.
>>
>>25425375
Consider using different readers for the two different formats
I use LiquidText for PDFs but Books for epubs
>>
Also a guy on >>>/g/vcg vibe-coded his own epub reader, and I think it was on Linux too
>>
>>25426293

You can vibecode easily your own pdf/Epub reader assuming you know how to vibecode
I think readest in written with js so i guess you could make something out with flutter too
