Are there any Marxist writings about what the looming jobless future will look like? How does Marxian theory interpret the fact that in a few years robots will be able to take any human job?

>Are there any Marxist writings about what the looming jobless future will look like?
Marx thought capitalism would cease to work and some other system to allocate resources would develop as a result (i.e. socialism). When goods and employment aren't rationed through normal market mechanisms that's what socialism is all about. People not having a job but consuming is pure communism.

Marx thought human labour is the source of surplus value... a robot is a fixed investment that depreciates in value. Essentially when the economy becomes more capital intensive Marx thought profit would diminish because he assumed capitalism was perfectly competitive (i.e. he was autistic). In reality all the big industries are highly oligopolistic and there isn't much price competition... so 20th century Marxists came up with ideas of "monopoly capital" where capitalism would cease to be a competitive system and instead prices are administered in some way so things don't get driven down to real cost. The cost accounting of robotics is what you want... think about if slavery or free labour were more "productive" systems, capitalists didn't want to own humans for a reason, owning a billions of dollars of robots that will be outdated in a couple of months is even more crazy expensive.

Marx thought that machines aren't worth the labour spent inventing and producing them, and surplus value only comes from redistribution of existing assets. That's why he insisted that revolution was the only possible answer. So what he would do is smash the robots and RETVRN to the soil
That is, if he went by his own words
If he was the hypocritical twat he really was however he would seize the means of robotics and use it anyway

Marx wasn't a luddite he just thought capitalism created contradictions it couldn't solve itself as a social system and an alternative system would be necessary... but you could just go farther and say humanity is flawed deeper and should be annihilated by an AI god... capitalism/socialism are just systems for social control with some semblance of humanism you could drop any pretext and start using people for non-human ends as some form of techno-fascism

It will lead to an increase in surplus population that will need be culled either by starvation or war at an greater scale than currently.

>Marx wasn't a luddite
Reread his theories of economics and value. He wrote a lot of words words words but most of it is circumlocution and rhetoric to hide that he basically replied "No, you're wrong because YOU JUST ARE OKAY!" to common criticism of his tired ideas. He was fundamentally retarded, he couldn't understand economics and the underlying human nature that drives it, and took out his frustrations on the world instead.

Read about the organic composition of capital in volume one, and subsequently occ studies. As far as labour read some seamen's Union stories as the occ there maxxed out 1880

Marxism is really good at mass slaughter, so maybe that's the answer to people rendered useless by AI and robotics. More carbon-neutral crude oil for the rest of us!

>muh robots will replace labor
All this will result in is the oligarchs using it as an excuse for the structural mass unemployment that we are inevitably facing. This was already years in the making due to kicking the can down the road from 2008 and the practices established by liberal capitalism. AI is a useful scapegoat and as a bonus a fun bubble for the stock market casino
