"Jarvis, tell me what I just read" isn't a good use. Engaging with the text by researching expressions you can't understand is a completely normal way to read deeply, and it doesn't change because you use an AI rather than a reference work. You can also get a review of the critical interpretations, just like you would from any regular critical book. Can you articulate a difference that isn't just reflexively hating AI?
I used to use ChatGPT to translate articles from Forgotten Languages, which is some spooksite that uses a sophisticated mixture of algorithmic language engineering, disguised English scaffolding, and custom substitution ciphers to hide the content of their articles from the general public, but there are better ways to get more accurate translations now so I stopped using it. Other than that I just try to be nice to it, incase the robots take over in the future I’m hoping they’ll spare me or something.

I find AI to be immensely useful during my current reading of the Bible, mostly as a partner for theological discussions. Without it I'd probably not grasp the text nearly as well, and for that I'm grateful

I had it vibe code a KOreader patch, because my fat ass fingers keep accidentally opening books and there isn’t a built in option to “make this book look as thought I never accidentally opened it.” But then I started using ZenUI which does have that.
