Then the christianity makes you think "hey, i know youre poor and pathetic now, but if youre good it will all be worth it cause in afterlife things are changed and evil will be suffering, and good will be happy." But we cannot know what happens in the afterlife. We can only guess. And it sure as hell sounds like a good manipulation tactic to keep abusing you, cause lets face it, lots of catholics are evil too. But that's only thinking with your brain, which is a limited instrument.
So why should you be good? To me its deeply personal thing and i'm not perfect in adhering to it. But eternal rule always trumps a temporary rule. And what is eternal? What can never be exhausted? What can never be spent? Think of it as a perpetuum mobile, a machine that never stops working and never runs out of fuel. Thst in my humble opinion is love.
