What are your thoughts on Bernardo Kastrup?
>>25467926Not really sure. I have read 2 of his books: The Idea of the World and Decoding Jungs Metaphysics. The latter was actually really good. I wished it was a little longer though. The Idea of the World was good. Very repetitive, which is a given regarding that it basically is just 15 essays of him mashed together. But after finishing it, I was still left with some question. F.e. he mentioned solipsism a few times and wanted to refute in a one chapter. Sadly, his refutation was basically non-existent and he just defined the term for like the third time in the book. A debate on theism came too short too or it didn't exist at all (I don't remember). Solid book, nonetheless. Sadly, I don't have too much knowledge about metaphysics or quantum mechanics, so I can't exactly prove him right or wrong. I guess I should just start to read Schlopenhauers WaWaR, which has been lying around for like 3 years. But I do plan to read more of him though. He is definitely interesting and and writes about interesting topics.

I could imagine Kastrups work being confusing, because he mostly only explains what is absolutely necessary to understand the metaphysics. But yeah, at least some very basic knowledge regarding Jung would be good. I have to agree that the book is excellent. Synchronicity always seemed like an absolute schizo topic to me, but Kastrup actually offers a very interesting perspective. I didn't even know that Jung "developed" this concept in collaboration with a Nobel price winner in physics. Definitely motivated me to look more into Jung.
