It's about us and you don't even know it exists.
Stop shilling your crap here, Yeager. This book is worse than 12-year-old edgelord crap. In addition, Amygdalatropolis' major story beats were all patterned after Houellebecq's "Whatever".• Both feature incels employed in the technology field.• Whatever's narrator contemplates having sex with one of his clients, but can't bear to actually do it. Its narrator fantasizes about slipping a roofie to his mother and raping her, and comes close, but can't go through with it.• Whatever's narrator seethes about sexual liberation and how it's left him sexually destitute. Its narrator is such an incel that he literally can't get it up anymore.• Whatever's narrator is hospitalized for a heart condition. Its narrator experiences both of his parents dying from cancer.• Whatever's narrator tries to talk his friend into killing a woman that they encountered at a night club. Its narrator orders a sex doll and, instead of having sex with it, rips it to pieces while screaming about how it's a slut.• Whatever's narrator ends up in a mental institution. Its narrator completely loses his mind and destroys his house in an attempt to repel a centipede infestation.• At the end, Whatever's narrator tries to unwind by vacationing in the forest. Its narrator tries to unwind by looking at a bunch of webcams showing pastoral areas.Plus it tries to be edgy, by doing stuff that has became boring a long time ago.• The narrator tries to fuck his mom. But that was done about 2500 years ago in "Oedipux Rex" by Sophocles.• The narrator watches a video of someone drowning a baby. But that was done in 1960 in "Rabbit, Run" by John Updike.I could go on, but bleah. So not only did you not transcend 12-year-old edgelord crap, but you couldn't even come up with an original plot.
>>25469388Meta-shill thread. The author has just made this post so that you can see the story beats and be interested in it; making the intentional comparison with Whatever, which doesn't sound very similar in substance at all. >But that was done about 2500 years ago in "Oedipux Rex" by Sophocles. You're not fooling anyone.
>>25469398No, I'm a guy that read Amygdalatropolis and was completely underwhelmed by it. I am not OP.
>>25469013only newfags don't know about his fucking book
>>25469013I wish it was better. Will say it got the general vibe/feel of it right though. But as a novel it's just okay.
>>25469388>The narrator watches a video of someone drowning a baby. But that was done in 1960 in "Rabbit, Run" by John Updike.lol
>>25469482>I wish it was better.Same impression I had when reading Negative Space.
>>25469408Whydid you put spoiler tags on it, then? No one on this board earnestly cares about spoilers... You just don't want to spoil your own book in the hope someone picks it up... Tut tut, Yeager. I think it's time to buy an ad!
>>25469408If that were true you wouldn't have used spoiler tags in the manner you did.
>>25469013lots of retards wrote shit about 4chan thinking we would like it just because it was about us.
>>25470434Haven't read Negative Space. I'll probably check it out at some point, but I was underwhelmed by Amygdalatropolis -- he tried to impose some semblance of a traditional plot with escalating tension and it just doesn't work because the book's strongest in its free-associative dream/chan sequences. Ending would be much better if Yeager didn't turn to the reader and explain exactly what he was doing in the last two paragraphs
>>25470468It fails every time because they're too afraid to actually spend some time learning what it's actually like
