I'm getting sick of ChatGPT paragraph spacing.
>>
>>25469596
Explain. There are some people I know who are really pissing me off because they're formatting their shit super weird. Are they using chatGPT?
>>
>>25469599
Yes.
>>
>>25469599
You can also very easily tell by the obsessive use of em dashes
>>
>>25469596
They are not just obnoxious - they are truly soulless.

Want me to compare between human and AI paragraphs?

To fix the annoying, choppy paragraph spacing, you can either enforce formatting rules via your prompt or clean up the layout when pasting.
AI models naturally lean toward short, single-sentence paragraphs (staccato style) to improve online readability, which often ruins traditional writing flows.
## 1. Direct Prompt Commands (Locking the Style)
To stop the dramatic, fragmented line breaks, add these constraints to your instructions:

* For fluid prose: "Write in continuous prose. Avoid micro-paragraphs and prioritize a natural narrative flow."
* For dense blocks: "Generate dense, fully formed paragraphs (3 to 5 sentences each) instead of breaking after every sentence."
* Against bullet points: "Write in a traditional narrative format. Do not use bullet points or excessive line breaks."

Pro-Tip: If you are a heavy AI user, paste these rules into your account's "Custom Instructions" or "System Prompts" settings so it applies to every new chat automatically.

## 2. The Copy-Paste Fix (Removing the Double Space)
AI outputs use Markdown formatting. When copied, this often translates into hidden double-returns that mess up your layout in Word, Google Docs, or Outlook.

* Paste without formatting: Instead of Ctrl + V, use Ctrl + Shift + V (or Cmd + Shift + V on Mac). This strips the AI's structural code and forces the text into your document's native spacing.
* Global editor fix: In Google Docs or Word, select the pasted text, open the line spacing menu, and click "Remove space after paragraph."

To tailor this, let me know: What type of text (emails, essays, reports) are you writing, and where do you usually paste it? I can give you the exact prompt or shortcut to use.

Not this.

Not that.

But. This.

It was that.

It's now this.

It was everything. And nothing.

And yet —

Perfect.

Yes. Everything that irks you about the way other people write is because of ChatGPT. If this post annoys you, it's because I used ChatGPT to write it.

You ever think Chatgpt is getting sick of (you) spacing? Eh?
>>

No man. I'm fucking serious. Someone submits something for me to read, and zero paragraphs are indented, but everything is double spaced, and there is an extra double space between the paragraphs. Ad if you try to set it to single space, the paragraphs are still double spaced. And if you clear the formatting, it fixes the double spacing, but it removes all the formatting and creates one solid text block.

I legitimate do no understand why so many people are formatting their stories this way. Everyone knows to indent each paragraph, right? Why the fuck don't they? Everyone knows you don't put spaces between paragraphs. So why do that? And this is more than just selecting all and clicking double space. This is some weird complicated spacing bullshit and I legitimately do not understand how they're doing it, unless they're copy pasting some AI horseshit.

I’ve gotten bored of talking to chatGPT. It’s only good for giving recs. I have however completely replaced getting refs from humans with chatGPT.

if you took this amount of time to learn more complex LLM usage, instead of taking the same amount of time to learn how to write better, you are officially doing it out of spite.

seriously what the fuck is the point. you lost the point. if LLMs need training in order for them to generate the way you want them, you might as well write it yourself.

LLMs are good for studying & homework, but I will NEVER use one to think for me. Butlerian Jihad type shit.
