Being forced into a position where you’re placed into a position of sincerity where others are behaving with insincerity, all while ironically having to play the role of insincerity to placate and feed the ego of somebodies actual sincerity, is perhaps a gigantic humiliation ritual.

I’d call this the total and utter absence of real competition.

To be honest, I kinda envy women for their natural lack of a conscience. Don't you think life would be so much easier if you never had to weigh all this good, bad, grey, lesser and greater evil shit, if you mentally existed in a place beyond such dichotomies, where those concepts don't have any meaning? You would be like an animal in the best sense of the word, in harmony with nature rather than alienated from it.

Years ago on this very website we used to joke that "the internet is serious business." We said it because of course it was inherently funny and untrue. "INTERNET SERIOUS BUSINESS" was a meme template in Impact font. We laughed at the phrase.

But then the internet actually became serious business. The lie became true, the joke became reality. And everything got worse as a result.

You will never be a real WASP. You have no integrity, you have no connection to the Bible, you have no yacht club memberships. You are a piece of white trash twisted by Solomon Spalding and his fanfiction into a crude mockery of nature’s perfection.

All the “validation” you get is two-faced and half-hearted. Behind your back people mock you. Your parents are disgusted and ashamed of you, your “friends” laugh at your cringe inducing appearance behind closed doors.

Christians are utterly repulsed by you. Thousands of years of evolution have allowed Christians to sniff out frauds with incredible efficiency. Even Mormons who “pass” look uncanny and unnatural to a Christian. Your scriptures and theology are a dead giveaway. and even if you manage to get a drunk Christian home with you, he’ll turn tail and bolt the second he sees a copy of The Book of Mormon on your bookshelf.

You will never be happy. You wrench out a fake smile every single morning and tell yourself it’s going to be ok, but deep inside you feel the depression creeping up like a weed, ready to crush you under the unbearable weight.

This is your fate. This is what you chose. There is no turning back.

Fine, I will finish Swann's Way. I am 331 pages in off 600 pages total. Not bad for a novel I've been reading on/off for over a year. DeLillo can wait.

What's neat is the library has the rest of the ISOLT series too, so once I finish Swann's Way, I might decide to dedicate the rest of my year to Proust.

>>
>>25486909
Eh, whore sounds too harsh phonetically to be used positively
>>
>>25486912
Limit caffeine in total and consume none after 2 pm
Don't use your phone too much, and not at all before bed
Figure out why you have nightmares, if you do, and address it.
Try L theanine
Get mental and physical exercise: My half baked theory is you need to use up the ready to use stores of carbohydrates in your brain and muscle or your body feels restless and refuses to sleep. Both weightlifting and spending 6+ hours a day doing intellectual work, independently and together, have had a positive effect on sleep for me
Get your room as dark as possible. I've started using a sleep mask.
Lose weight if you're fat, don't smoke, use nose strips if they make it easier to breathe
Keep your bedroom below 72 degrees
Stop eating 4 hours before bed
Make sure to piss before bed
Shower before bed
Fix your posture

This is how I've gone from 2-4 hours on average with one 12 hour marathon once or twice a month to reliably getting 6 to 7.5

Late Stage Capitalism ends not with Communism, but with Bonapartism and Caesarism. Instead of dissolving in the face of its internal contradictions, Capital will bow at the feet of the Great Man who arises to tame it, and to reorganize all of civilization according to his own designs.

This literally already happened in the "communist" revolution in Russia in 1917. Lenin was that Great Man, the Soviet Union was him making Capital bow to his whims. Lenin is to be understood as a figure akin to Caesar, not as some champion of the proletariat.
>>
>>25487005

How the fucking fuck does the morbidly obese blue-haired tranny with a cancer personality always have literal thousands of dollars to blow away in whatever autism they decided to contaminate? They have no passion or taste for anything but drop so much fucking money. How? How does this creature even have a job, ANY job? Do all these american troons have millionaire daddies? Can you really just go to a job interview in America and say "trans rights" and they're forced to give you 10k a month? I'm going to be jobless soon and I know I'll have to be nothing short of perfect to go fucking flip burger with jeets and I wanna kill myself. Then I see these clowns throw thousands around like pennies it's fucking maddening. Where does all that fucking money come from? How do they have jobs?! Why are they all fucking rich? How?! How does someone like that even function?
>>
>>25487025
allow me to explain:

>>25484898
>>
>>25487026
I was always weird in the sense I was a bit shy and nerdy and it crippled me for life. I was bullied and it was a miracle that I managed to get a gf in high school. Job interviews were impossible. A couple times I was reprimanded by the woman doing the interview for the way I was dressed as if I showed up looking like a hobo. I could never understand what the fuck was going on and I went into a deep depression. I lost years of my life taking pills to fix my personality according to women who couldn't understand why I was unhappy, when I didn't even know if there was anything to fix cause what I said was right, just because I needed to get a job and function. Then I see these disgusting looking trannies who are literally made of cringe and say the most insufferable shit and probably have awful personal hygiene and they have six figure incomes. It's unacceptable. I can't be worth less than that.
>>
>>25487040
trannies are a combination of the worst traits in men and women without any redeeming features. the tranny is an unholy mix of male aggression with female amorality and solipsism.

and to add a cherry on top of that shit pile they're also clinically insane and protected by government laws.

So far the first 20% of this book is just the author bragging about how smart he is and how good he was at Greek when he was in school. His writing is good and all, but I just finished re-reading Moby Dick which is a pretty hard act to follow prose wise. That took me like three weeks. I’ll be done this one in three days tops.
>>
It took me until the second half of my twenties to develop a consciousness of my class vis-a-vis with others. Like, I knew most of my peers at school were quite a bit more affluent than my family, but it took years afterwards for it to set in just how long, wide and more or less unbridgeable the chasm between us is.

I think it made me feel quite a bit more lonely. Also a bit resentful at fate, to be honest. I would've been able to self-actualize so much easier if my background and circumstances allowed for it as easily as they did in their case.

They say that spacetime is an emergent phenomenon from “quantum entanglement”. It kind of makes sense. The laws of nature famously work just as well backwards and forwards. Time is essentially just an emergent phenomenon of matter and entropy anyway.

It's criminal how I'm 32 and still haven't read Frankenstein yet. Do I read the 1818 version or the 1832 version btw?? (I'm leaning towards the former.)

>>25487436
Spacetime is the fabric of the universe itself. People naturally perceive it as a type of background or stage, and it’s immutable and infinite characteristics were essentially taken for granted until Einstein proved that it was relative and could be bent by gravity etc… Even if you do not find it all unusual to think that the entire physical universe emerged from something else, besides perhaps a God or Gods, the idea that even such lowly creatures that we as humans are may be able to one day understand that system should be surprising to you.
>>

It's strange, Republicans seem to prefer Presidents who lead by instinct without an intellectual, in-depth knowledge of the all the facts, someone to make the decisions without being able to create the options, whereas Democrats seem to prefer a veritable expert in all things, someone who could just as easily be the advisor as well as the leader. It's a peculiar disparity.

The rebarbative, cantankerous, opprobrious, and quite disagreeable customs of this site appear to have ingrained themselves in the souls of all people across the world save for those 50 over and those disconnected and disanchored from all things contemporary.
Contention and disapproval with that which is deemed 'based' sows ire enough to rouse proper conflict.
Hostility is increasing, as more and more and more (conflictive) pagodas of abstraction pop up to deceive people into this or that.
Well, desu, I'm quite happy with all this. I just hope the illiteracy spreads faster and that humanity more speedily progresses to extelligence. Sure the boys up top are doing fantastic transitioning the subjects from functional illiteracy to true illiteracy, and from intelligence to extelligence, but they should hasten things a bit.

When everything's ready, I hope they put on a good enough show. The rapid mass culling of gentiles will be superb to watch.
And hey, no harm no foul as far as sin is concerned. You don't accrue sin by eliminating rabid animals after all. There's no harm in exterminating the gentiles when they've embraced their genitlism totally.

Thank God for 4chan.
With that said, I think we should delete all boards except for /a/, /r9k/ and /pol/. The other boards aren't contributing either to the goal of destabilization or expediting the process of intelligence to extelligence.

My ever-increasing list of hobbies vs my ever-dwindling amount of free time. It's difficult to find fulfillment when you're someone who is interesting in a wide variety of subjects and activities living in a society where you're incentivised to wake up, eat, work, eat, sleep, repeat. The old adage says ''money does not buy happiness'' but I'd automatically become a much happier man without the financial pressures we face in modern life. None of my goals or aspirations are career based but none of them put food on my table either so guess that's where my priorities are forced to lay.

My counselor at the clinic has the power to destroy me, as I've admitted to him not following the rules. He won't report me, but he could. This gives me anxiety. I tell people too much. I try not to be a snob anymore, but sometimes I see grown men reading graphic novels and pulp genre fiction in public and I feel such intense disgust and secondhand embarrassment. I suppose my issue isn't even with them specifically, read whatever you want, but it's more, you have to pass the time in public reading a book, or worse, trying to appear smart and above the smartphone rabble, and this is the option you decide on? It's depressing.

To put it in perspective, the graphic novel guy was at the library, so the real issue is the dude is surrounded by all these great books, and of course, being an illiterate young man with attention span problems, he goes for the comics to pass the time until his partner is done with their homework and he can leave. The genre fiction guy was on the bus. This book with this trashy, generic sci-fi cover was the only thing you had available to bring on the bus? Come the fuck on.

Okay, I'm done being a snob. I apologize. Not like my life is going great.

>>
>>25488079
>Does a comic really constitute reading?
I wouldn't say so, but some comics are much better for having been done in the medium of sequential art. It's a synthesis of mediums. I do admire your disgust towards them but you have to understand comic book stores are a nearly extinct form of commerce and the remaining few have been left stranded in the streets. Consider those who find the warmth of a bookstore to be friendly stray cats
>>
Should be simple enough to test. Grab a comic in a language that you do not speak and look at the images. If you can explain the plot within 80 percent accuracy then I would agree that it does not constitute reading, but would maintain that it's cringe to have a negative emotion towards someone else doing so.
>>
>>25488087
Fair enough. I don't know, I suppose my issue is this: I imagine his partner saying "oh you're already done with your work? go find a book to read in the meantime" and he goes and grabs something from the comic/graphic novel section, even though we were deep within the fiction section of the library. Like books are some strange, foreign object he's allergic to.

Yeah it's not that big of a deal but hey, this is /wyt/ and it's a thought I had while I was reading my own book nearby and saw him!

Haha oh yeah that's true.
If they're just not even decent partners in going around a bookstore and enjoying the shelves with their partner, even if they don't read. And then you can stop by the 'graphic novel' section and peek at and talk about your faves like she does
Honestly, you make a good point, who sits down to read a comic at a bookstore? It's like reading a magazine at the bookstore. It'd have to be a pretty large volume like hardback Watchmen or something not to deserve shooing out

I hate my life. I hate where I live and I hate my partner. I quit my job several months ago because I hated that too. I was filled with regret because the job paid well and asked very little of me. Today my old boss called me and asked if I was interested in having my old job back. Part of me does but it also just feels like I should run away and leave everything behind. I did tell him yes and now things are in motion but it seems like such a regression. I have no idea what to do. Why can't I just be happy with my comfortable life?
>>
I'm just waiting for the day someone makes a post making fun of me for reading Proust in public and being performative. That's actually part of the reason I haven't started reading Gaddis, if I started lugging around the doorstoppers of JR or The Recognitions and reading them in public, I'm sure I'd get many strange side eyes lol.

>>25488073
>Faulkner, DeLillo, Pynchon, ... Roth, ... Nabokov, ... Munro
i've read and enjoyed all the above, but i can think of many times in my life when i'd rather be reading a scifi tale

what's cool about art and the imagination is that you can never predict what's going to spark something for you, sometimes it's philip roth and sometimes it's a fungoid monster living on cave on mars, and five years from now it may well be the image of that lonely monster that's left the deeper impression on your soul - you must give the imagination its due, and let its whims carry you where they will

I want you to kill yourself and if you don’t I will bring you to it.

The usual rule-of-thumb is anything you can smell, others can smell and notice much more easily. Of course, this doesn't necessarily account for distance. If you can smell it from a regular standing or sitting position, then yes. If you mean literally right up against your shorts, then no, that's normal.
