Had a dream where I utterly raged out because I couldn't read any of the clocks in the dream and my boss kept telling me I was late for something. At one point I lifted him up by the collar and screamed in his face to prove it while rubbing a clock with a blank face on his forehead. Cops were call and when I asked them what time it was they literally died on the spot. More police came, once in tactical gear and carrying rifles. They too died as soon as I asked them what time it was. By the end of the dream I was throwing cellphones and clocks at buildings and causing them to explode because they refused to tell me the time. Somehow none of this made me question if I was dreaming or not. I was too angry to think clearly. Meanwhile when I actually woke up the first thing I did was check the time, see that it was there and I could read it, then utterly relax as all the rage instantly left my body at once. It was so cathartic that I almost went back to sleep. I think I might be a little stressed about time.

I've come to realize I don't feel much of anything anymore. There's a small part of me that acknowledges something's a little wrong, but it's been dulled down by the 'well I have to do it' of it all. A little obligation that tells me to just keep on going. The more I think about it the more it feels like how an animal ought to think; not much going on that's complicated, just a dull feeling of where to go and what to do next, and anything that screams or is made bloody in the meantime is just a bit of nature playing out like it does a million times a day. I have the persistent feeling someone is going to come around and witnessing me doing all this, they'll fall all over themselves, distraught, and ask 'How? How could you do this?' and I just won't have any sort of answer for them. It's just what I'm doing. It's just what comes next. There's nothing to contrive out of it; it's just what comes next. Almost done reading this book on serial killers & their methods of madness. The book also explores investigative and profiling techniques & the history of serial killing. Pretty good. It's materially different from, say, The Encyclopedia of Serial Killers, as it's really more about the details, methods, behaviours and statistics pertaining to serial killers than a comprehensive guide to every serial killer ever. Jeffery Dahmer (my personal favourite serial killer) is conspicuously absent, for example (not entirely but the author often will illustrate a point he's making with the entire story of a relevant killer, many pages long) and while the book does name-drop Dahmer at times it doesn't give him the same chapter-treatment.
