>solved ethics
>you've never heard of him
It's both an uplifting and sinking feeling to realize that every thought you've ever had about ethics is either unoriginal or wrong because of this man.

Weird to see this thread here because i was just writing about him in my journal a few hours ago, trying to find a link between his Shame and Necessity and what Culianu was unearthing with his investigations into the transformation of renaissance era magic and alchemy into psychoanalysis in the modern era with his Eros and Magic book. Ive gotten nowhere yet because im a brainlet but this is a cool coincidence.

Just, like, let people enjoy things. Ok, chud?

t. Bernard Williams

>Williams tried not to lose touch "with the real concerns that animate our ordinary ethical experience," unlike much of the "arid, ahistorical, second-order" debates about ethics in philosophy departments.
Based, I've been thinking about this lately. I might read him.

It's unsurprising that Nietzscheans have a better grasp of what's going on with us than most other people
>>
>2 days later and OP still hasn't bothered to explain what he liked about Bernard Williams' work
What was the point of this thread? I'll bump this to either get an answer or let this guy be known as a LARPer's philosopher

bro Bumbley Tildswift has completely solved philosophy, DON'T ASK ME HOW! No need to explain my bro, he just has ok.

Some of these dumb ass memes actually end up being taken as canon by the non-reader pseuds that are on the 4chan spectrum without actually posting here, the kind that follow ''meme pages'' on social media and unironically love seeing 4chan reposts on there. So many kids actually believe that Wittgenstein ''solved'' philosophy and they parade this belief around ad nauseum without understanding 1% of the context surround the P.I. Same applies to Guenon and Schuon and Evola due to glowie /pol/tard influence. It just sucks because there already is a scarcity problem when it comes to /lit/ discussion spaces online. We don't need this hollow shit. At least be funny with your memes.

Not as good as Lance S. Bush.
