I recommend an anthology of classical chinese literature. There are many of them out there, pic related is one of the more comprehensive ones
>>
>>25493897
I second this. There's a two volume anthology by Cyril Birch that's also very good.
>>
>>25493774
Read their 4 classics. Not easy with no background but doable.
>>
I like Zhuangzi the best

I recently Mitsuteru Yokoyama's adaption of Shiji and the Secret History of the Mongols and they're both really good. Only the first five volumes are translated though. He also adapted Suikoden and Romance of the Three Kingdoms but I haven't read those yet.

>Classic Chinese Novels (traditional Chinese: 古典小說; simplified Chinese: 古典小说; pinyin: gǔdiǎn xiǎoshuō) are the best-known works of literary fiction across pre-modern Chinese literature. The group usually includes the following works: Ming dynasty novels Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Water Margin, Journey to the West, and The Plum in the Golden Vase; and Qing dynasty novels Dream of the Red Chamber and The Scholars.

The Wandering Earth by Liu Cixin is the only modern/ Comminist era Chinese story I have read and it was okay. The movie version was clearly hoping to be some grand epic like western sci fis are yet didnt quite hit the mark…
>>
>>25493790
Well put simply, my question was entirely rhetorical and I plan to become a permanent fixture here while talking to myself for many months on end, if not years. I am insufferable as are all fans of China, and none of you will escape me.

Starting with the ancient jeets with the Mahabharatha and Ramayana, ending with the modern jeets such as idk Rushdie and Naipaul. Its one of the great non-western literary cultures. But this board will never make it past McCarthy so who cares.

Chinese people can't create, they can only steal. They're basically jeets, except their women are marginally less unattractive.

Watch The Last Emperor. Great movie. His life story is almost unbelievable. From emperor being served by eunuchs and having his own personal harem to common pleb working as a gardener. Like some sort of modern day Nebuchadnezzar
>>
>>25498165
still stuck in the 2000's line of American government line i see? Don't you know your overlord have since updated the line to 'the Chinese might be better than us at tech innovation but theyre cheating because their government subsidies are interfering with the free market'

The American government expressed an opinion on the relative unattractiveness of jeets vs. chinks?
