>"Yeah but, um, actually, language is FLUID and EVOLVES"
>>
Yeah. It tends to just become arbitrary.
>>
>language is fluid and evolves and is beautiful EXCEPT when it's heckin problematic like calling something gay

Thresholds are relevant here.
>It isn't wrong but op thinks it is
>person is using a hyperbole
>person is exploring new or triggering territory and amalgamates words as he does with the concepts.
>Synonym with slight error, you get what they mean but it is clumsy
>Completely original word that is still capable of carrying the intended meaning, sounds like it would be a common word in England
>Simple error of speech
>Misunderstanding of major proportions
>opportunistic, Pavlovian, tribalist or populist understanding of the words and their meaning
>Intentional malus, gaslighting or sophistry
>legal loophole

Half of any given board is garbage threads, so I don't understand this complaint. Take a look at the catalog sometime, scroll to the bottom and see what lives down there, and then think twice before bitching about new threads replacing it.

>some retard wrote in a book what in his opinion is the meaning of a word 100 years ago therefore it's the correctâ„¢ meaning even though nobody uses it in this meaning

Language is fluid and evolves according to human practice. If the practice requires you to be precise, you gotta be precise.
casual discussion generally allows for more variation, and you should probably refrain from sperging out over spelling errors or commonly misused words if it does not actually matter that much to the discussion at hand.

Anything precise, like in science/philosophy, or in religious, ritualistic, poetic contexts, or anything surrounding social taboos, (as in >>25498665
) make sense to correct.
