I'm finding it difficult to go down on my dose of daily medicine. I'm making the effort in order to gain back mental clarity and restoration of my emotions, and it's been working a bit, but after a few hours, the cravings in my mind begin, like a little bug gnawing away at my brain tissue, and the only way to stop it is to take more. That, plus the fact taking more just feels so fucking good. Maybe I should look into getting one of those timed lockboxes, meant for aiding self-control, where you can lock an item in a box that won't open until a preset amount of hours. I really hope I can pull this off, because while the pleasure is nice, I'm ready to actually accomplish things in my life now, and with the intellectual and emotional stunting I get from abusing the medicine, that'll be impossible.
>Oligofructose is a short-chain fructan derived from chicory root (or synthesized from sucrose) that serves as a prebiotic dietary fiber and a natural sugar replacer. It is not digested in the upper gastrointestinal tract, passing instead to the colon where it is fermented by beneficial bacteria like Bifidobacteria and Lactobacilli. bruh

Gary Ridgeway is an interesting character in the annals of serial killers. Like, I'm almost finished reading this book on serial killers right, and like 90% of the way thru the book the author in passing mentions that he was a necrophile for the first time in the entire book. I think a lot of the facts about the Green River killings are really obscure, maybe even bullshit. I don't think he committed all the murders or that the Green River killer was even one perpetrator.
>>25499317The mods deliberately killed it by allowing kpop and to a lesser extent wpop faggotry to fester and shit up the entire catalog.
I don't know what the fuck to read or if I even want to read outside being able to feel smugly superior because it's an intellectual hobby. Lately I've been confronting my own narcissism and how it affects literally every decision I make a lot.
>>25499448We’re on the other side, I’ve gotten there by finally externalizing everything, including private constructions and everyone else as my enemy that I can smugly feel superior too.The next step will probably be doing and thinking effectively nothing outside of calling them subhuman and exercising and working. Dreaming and sincerity will not be possible for a while.

I'm still holding out hope I meet and marry a millionaire wife and my entire life changes. I can feel it in my bones. I am manifesting it.Also can I just say, it's kinda weak that as a good looking and smart man, this isn't really a viable life path in terms of probability (ie it COULD happen but it's like winning the lottery) but for a woman, it's not only viable but somewhat common. So let's hope feminism has done its job and women become more and more open to marrying down financially, like men do.
Gotta leave the house by noon tomorrow.
>>25499592>it's somewhat common for a woman to marry a millionaire What kind of world do you people live in. Sure, it's probably happened more often than with the genders reversed, but it's still remarkably uncommon for anyone to marry very far up or down. "I'll just marry somebody already rich" is as viable as "I'll just win the lotto" for everyone, anon.
>>25499597I gotta wake up 6 AM to get to work tomorrow and I don't know how long I'll be there for but it'll probably be more than 12 hours.
>>25499603Common was an overstatement. Common enough to be a thing, I should say. Common enough that "millionaire man marries younger, poorer bombshell of a wife" is a well-understood trope and not an unfamiliar sight.

>>25499243Two things:1: Foreigners always gravitate toward the exoteric side of politics.2: Getting any real insight into the esoteric side of politics, foreigner or not, is contingent on lucking out and meeting someone who knows and them sharing things with you out of good will. Or paying a substantial amount of money to people that could be conmen and definitely have an agenda.
Oh wow, you praise insipid developmentalist dictators and fellate Singapore endlessly? That's insane, I had never met anyone with that position before.
>>25499330>>25499304I think I may have found a solution, a little trick I read about on another site just for these kinds of situations. Wish me luck! Hopefully, and God-willing, within a month I'll be back to full mental operating power for the first time in years and working on the next Great American Novel.
I didn't come here for nearly a month. When i opened the board and saw the posts few minutes ago, I realized how much I missed all of you.I've finished writing my paper, I also spent a week in the eastern pyrenees, completely in the wild, far from the subhman industrialists and consumerists.

I basically tolerate the delusions of individual trans people because attacking them as people would be mean. It's much more productive to support broad-scale political action that shuts the whole thing down, being cruel to individual troons is just a waste of time.I basically treat them like a dog that hasn't been trained properly, or a child that's misbehaving because it hasn't learned to behave better. You humor them, basically.Even trannies that I consider my friends, sometimes I think that if I were ever to be truly honest with them, I'd basically pat them on the head and say, "That's nice, dear, now sit down and play with your crayons, the adults are talking." Dismiss them, basically, because I find the entire transexual thing worthy of dismissal without any further consideration. I don't take a bit of it seriously.

>>25499740What's up Stephen Dedalus, where'd you wind up sleeping when you fucked off from Eccles Street?
>>25499688depends on what you want to do: In my case, I'm not fat (quite fit) so I've been doing +20km a day with nearly 1000/1500 m of elevation gain. When I get tired or see a beautiful landscape/lake, I just climb a tree/peak or lie down and read a bit. When I want to sleep, I set up my tent. I also use paper maps but you could just download a gps app on your phone. What usually people do, they plan tracks using gpx studio or something like that (lets say ~10km) between moutain huts and they sleep there (they are not expensive, its like 20/30€ a night). In both cases, you should pack up as much as compact, high calorie food as possible (I like nuts, dark chocolate, dates, oats, olive oil, bread, avocado etc ...) . You should have at least normal physical shape, and buy resistant shoes if you do not already have (I went with my 75€ decathlon mh500). Clothes depend on the weather but you could go in jeans/shorts and tshirts/polars with a rain poncho and a waterproof hat.For the cost, it depends on what you already have. In the second case, you would need a backpack (you can get it for 50€ or less), train/bus tickets to get you to the mountains and book the huts (for a week, maybe ~150€ or you could do 3/4 days for like 60/80€).In the first case, it would cost more (tent etc...)some photos i took: https://imgur.com/a/i50AWPkpicrel is the kind of huts you should expect
>>25499746i have to lose weight first. I definitely dont plan on walking for that much, im fine with exploring around my camp for a bit. there's a place in the monutains with bungalows that arent expensive relatively close to me. i guess my long term goal is to go there once. and theres a restaurant there too. i actually went there once but for some unrelated thing. the air is so clean. so i guess i dont need a tent, though i might get it and i dont need to bring that much food since there's a restaurant. spending time in nature truly heals. and your photos are very beautiful
20 years ago, fireflies still exist in my area. Stream is populated by aquatic creature. You can actually make out the constellations from the night sky. All those had gone for the sake of urban development.
Should i start my philosophy journey with Heidegger? After reading some short summaries on Martin Heidegger I want to delve in but not sure where, I was thinking of getting this book?"Introduction to Philosophy-2024, Studies in Continental Thought Martin Heidegger,William McNeill"
>>25499758Mountain huts usually have dining areas, but I try to avoid them. You go there to get away from industrialism, but instead, you just hear people treating nature like a corporate ladder, talking loudly about their jobs or bragging about their performance stats (I did this GR, I climbed this peak...) rather than actually enjoying it.It’s a different experience when you find genuine solitude. During that week, I found an abandoned cabin to spend the night in. There was a guy already there, writing. We talked a bit and it was surprisingly interesting.
fuck shit up and start a riot
The world is totally fucked up. Offshoring of lucrative IT jobs to filthy eastern euro and India countries. Manufacturing also stolen by 3rd world dirtbags. >>2549924Does anyone else sometimes think of their subconscious as a separate entity?Like one time, I had a dream were there was a dark room with prison bars running down the middle of it. There were only two spots of light. I was standing in one, and my doppelgänger was standing in the other. My doppelgänger walked off into the dark, and I wanted to follow them, but I was too scared to leave the light. And over a PA system, a voice was repeating the words "separation anxiety, separation anxiety" over and over. Like, that's way too on the nose. It really feels like my subconscious is making fun of me. And If *I'm* my consciousness, isn't my subconscious something else?
>>25499907your subconscious is the god that made you.
>>25499907your subconscious is the bona fide true blue you. it’s your consciousness that’s separate. your consciousness is probably your dad or something.
>>25499793Yeah its not so much that i need some extreme goals to achieve while in nature, i just want some peace and beauty from chilling in nature. I just wanna get away from this city, man, even just briefly
>>25499907I had a dream like that. I was having dinner outdoors with my mom while I was telling my mother that I hate her. Also, you are both, technically. Your consciousness is just the limits of your awareness.
>>25499907I think that the human brain is an antenna that connects to your consciousness and that the connection can get fuzzy under certain mental states, like dream states.

>>25500132Guess I know what I'll be reading soon. THanks for the shout.
I feel my brain is rotted to its core. How do I fix this?
>>25500163Read. READ. Perhaps write a bit. Then read some more. It's that simple. Writing is the highest form of thinking.
>>25500165Can't stay focused for more than 5 minutes. I get distracted a lot.And I can't write. I just don't have it in me as a writer.
>>25500163Reading is good advice, any kind of mental exercise is good advice, but make sure not to ignore your body. It needs exercise too. Human beings were built to run, that’s why those “leg” things you have take up like 60% of your body. If you don’t use your legs enough it fucks up your brain. Your brain starts going “something’s horribly wrong! My legs don’t work! How am I going to survive!” whether you realize that’s what’s happening or not.
>>25500167Same advice I always give: start with 5 pages, then 5 pages again, then eventually you'll find you can make it to 10 pages, then 15, then 20, then 30, then 50, then 70-100 a day. Keep getting distracted? Try leaving the house to read. Not only are you away from your computer, but I find if I go to a location to do an activity, the effort and commitment of it is enough to keep me off my phone completely and totally focused on the book. Try a coffee shop or library. Good luck, anon! You can do it.if not, get the fuck out, 'cuz this board is for people who read :)
>>25500173this whole weird ‘exercise’ approach to reading a book is so jarring to me. if you don’t want to read then don’t (unless it’s for uni or something). i know businesstype grifters talk about spending x hours a day reading but if you really believe reading (when you have no appetite for it) makes you smarter in any meaningful way then you’re going to end up more grifter than writer. do you think your literature fav was thinking ‘start with 5 pages, then 5 more’?
>>25500193>this whole weird ‘exercise’ approach to reading a book is so jarring to me... do you think your literature fav was thinking ‘start with 5 pages, then 5 more’?Except the difference is we live in an area where our attention span is rotted to its guts, and is almost always the complaint that prevents people from being able to read. That's what the exercise is for. It's not for people who don't enjoy reading, but for people who want to read but find it difficult to because their brain is so used to defaulting to the easy endorphin hit in television shows or internet-browsing or, god forbid, video watching.> if you don’t want to read then don’t (unless it’s for uni or something). i know businesstype grifters talk about spending x hours a day reading but if you really believe reading (when you have no appetite for it) makes you smarter in any meaningful way then you’re going to end up more grifter than writer. In general, sure, you don't wanna read, then don't. But we are literally on /lit/erature, so yeah, I have every right to be snobby about it. Go post on /r9k/ if you don't wanna read but you want threads like these. This isn't "smart people general", it's "book readers general".And lastly, as James Joyce said, literature is the most spiritual of all the arts, so if you don't get how reading benefits you -- both fiction and non-fiction -- then I reiterate, get the fuck out. Kindly, of course :)
>>25500193>>25500201whoops, obviously I meant era* and not area. still drinking my morning coffee!inb4>so the book reader can't even choose the right word, heh
>>25500193>>25500201Oh I forgot to add one thing about the exercise point: the brain is a muscle, along with attention span, so yeah, just like physical exercise when you're starting from zero, working your way up is the best approach.
