As a whole, web novels are infamous for content sprawl and pacing issues. Even 2D girls are not immune from the thousand yard stare.

>>25499958Never understood the idea or appeal of a reverse-harem. At least a "harem" implies spreading your oats farther. But reverse-harems just seem like situation of thinly veiled simp orbiters mixed with cuckoldry/ntr for all the rest who don't get to impregnate their "queen".

How hard is it to make some money with AI writing? AI seems pretty good at it: >"No," Cornelius said.>Lucas blinked. "I'm sorry?">"You heard me. The table is ours until we ask for the bill, and the lady is nobody's compensation. She's my colleague.">For a moment Lucas simply stood there, as if the word no were a coin he'd never seen and couldn't decide whether to be offended by. Then the color climbed his neck.>"Do you know whose town you're sitting in?" His voice rose to fill the room. "Peasant upstarts. You come into my town, eat at my table, and — " He stepped back and rolled his shoulders like a duelist. "It seems you need a lesson in Martindale hospitality.">"My lord," a thin magister said from the side, "perhaps — ">"Quiet.">Lucas spoke three syllables in the High Tongue, sweeping his hand in a wide theatrical arc, and fire gathered along his knuckles and uncoiled into a whip. The Emberlash. Ten feet of living crimson that hissed and spat as it licked the air.>Cornelius remained seated, unconcerned with the showy magic.>Magic, before it is fire or force or anything else, is a knot of intention — and Lucas Martindale tied his knots loudly and left the tails hanging everywhere. Cornelius had been watching the weave since the first syllable. He lifted two fingers and plucked the keystone thread the way one pulls a loose thread from a hem.>The Emberlash came apart in midair. It unraveled, strand by strand, into a drifting cloud of harmless orange motes that rose toward the rafters and winked out one by one.>Silence. A single mote settled on the lady's sleeve. She picked it up, sniffed it, and looked disgusted.>"Saffron," she announced to the room. "He perfumes his spells with saffron.">A snort escaped from somewhere near the kitchen door before terror could catch it.>Lucas's face had gone the color of his doublet.I could see myself reading a story written like this.
>>25500237Now extend it to several thousands of words and watch as any notion of reality or consistency completely collapses.
>>25500237>AI writingI want out of this timeline. At least write something. It's not that hard. You're writing right now. At least AI vs drawfags makes a little sense because drawing takes a lot more skill. But most people learn to write as part of a formal education.Just write the damn story... omfg...
Do you create calendars and keep track of them for your not-on-earth stories? Do you care, do readers care? Not only different names for months and days of the week, but full-on different month lengths and names, maybe different weeks, different hours in a day. How long seasons last, the cycles of the moons. Weather.
>>25500237it might be an indicator of how much fantasy slop AI has been fed that this does seem to approximate typical fantasy slop, whereas when I ask AI to generate a murder mystery it gives me rubbish
>>25500237>I could see myself reading a story written like this.Well, I wouldn't. There's no story. It's aimless gibberish that has no point and goes nowhere
>>25500244The AI already managed to do so even in this scene. I had to rewrite a few of these sentences and delete like 30% of what it wrote. The AI wrote stuff like this: >"Do you know whose town you're sitting in?" His voice rose to fill the room, because it was clearly a voice accustomed to filling rooms. "Peasant upstarts. Wtf is the point of "because it was clearly a voice accustomed to filling rooms.">The Emberlash. A display spell, Academy-certified, guaranteed to ruin a dinner and scar a table, which was precisely the point. They point of the spell is to scar a table?>>25500245I don't know how to write. I can write a scene description. I can change what's already written and extend it a little, but writing it from scratch is just really hard for me. >>25500251That might be the case. It might also be down to how you prompt it, which AI you use, or even just bad luck.
>>25500237>"I'm sorry?"cuck response
>>25500274>writing it from scratch is just really hard for meThat's what we call being inexperienced. You can only improve by doing the work, anon.
>>25500274>I don't know how to write. I can write a scene description. I can change what's already written and extend it a little, but writing it from scratch is just really hard for me. Gotta start somewhere, and all your creative flaws create a more unique artistic pattern and expression than an AI ever could. Just write and see how it goes and ignore the fags who are just trying to troll. I've messed with AI writing myself just to see what it could do, and on a technical level it's good, but, it lacks any real panache or style. It's too smooth to the point of literary plastic. Perfectionism is the trap, striving for excellence in your own journey is what's important, since excellence still leaves room for flaws.

>>25500249The only point of stating month names is to inform the reader what season it is, and the message is kinda lost if you write "it was the twentieth of Umbraltaath"
>didn't like how two chapters came out, the mood was all off>committed to rewriting them>wordcount blowing up like crazyI cannot for the life of me write a fast paced story. I need to learn how people take narrative shortcuts. Although it's possible I'm influenced too much by Tolkein and GRRM and Brown and Hamilton and other epic length SFF. Maybe read some Heinlein and... who even writes short one shot fantasy novels these days?
>>25500496>The Smurn'ing of the Gwonka>It's was the second Quala'naka of the fourth Sama. It was that time again. The rains of Jumma would come and wash the scrum down out of the grutters. The Grizzlers would come soon, half past the hour of Tokna'. To clean the glumpies away. Fredrick Flint Cliff Reich Reinhart Lionsgate Goldenberg the Third would soon be ready for his Slunkie studies. More depressing literary studies in the oppressive season of the Korma. >>25500237I don’t know. AI writing always comes off as too purple no matter how much I edit it down.>[Warning! Threat detected.]Red text flared across Victor's vision, pulling him out of his daze. He glanced toward the window to see the forest blurring past, dense and green, the carriage rolling on at its usual steady clip.A threat on the king's road. He almost laughed. And here he thought his taxes were actually paying for something. He let the smile show anyway. Truth was, the ride had been dull for hours. A little action might do him some good.Across from him, Derek sat slumped against the cushions, chin dipping toward his chest. The old knight's surcoat hung loose on shoulders that had gone soft with age, and his eyes had drifted shut somewhere around the last mile marker.Asleep at the wheel as usual. Some bodyguard."Wake up, old man. We've got company," Victor said, snapping his book closed.Derek's eyes flew open. "Huh? What is it?"Victor didn't answer. He was already leaning down, tucking the book into the storage locker with the unhurried care of a man who had all the time in the world. Then he sat back and held up three fingers."Three?" Derek's face creased. "Three what?"A finger folded down. Then another.Outside, the wheels ground steadily over packed dirt, and a crow called somewhere in the distance. Derek shifted uneasily in his seat, his hand finding the hilt of his sword without him quite deciding to put it there. The last finger dropped."BANDITS! Bandits on the road!"The driver's cry tore through the air right on schedule. Horses screamed and the carriage lurched hard enough to throw Derek half out of his seat.He was up in an instant, one hand slamming against the ceiling for balance, the other already wrapped around steel. His gaze bored into Victor. "How did you know?"Victor only smiled, perfectly at ease while the whole carriage bucked around him. "How could I not? The system was practically screaming in my ear.""The system?""Never mind."He slid a hand beneath his coat and secretly drew an enchanted pistol from his inventory. The familiar touch of cold metal against his palm made his heart race.Well then. Let's kill something.Derek caught the smile on Victor's face and went very still.
>>25500650Something I noticed with AI writing is that it has absolutely zero personality. It's so boring to read.
>>25500650I wholeheartedly agree.
