I'm trying to fix my Internet and video game addiction by reviving my long-lost habit of reading. I've been wanting to read Nietzsche's works for a long time to understand his ideas instead of relying on representations of others but I need to know other important philosophical works, starting from the Greeks and it kinda makes me procrastinate because of the volume of all that stuff. Has anyone here had this problem? How did you fix it, just simply started reading at some point or you had some interesting "rituals" to reshape your thoughts and motivate your brain to start?

Not only is Nietzsche relevant and always will be, but along with Voltaire, Schopenhauer, and Camus, he's also an author who wrote clearly and comprehensibly (Zarathustra is more easily misunderstood, but that's a special case), you don't have to give yourself a headache deciphering extremely long/complex sentences like with Kant, Hegel, or Heidegger. Nietzsche and Dostoevsky are so famous because of their universality and depth, it makes no sense to get upset if people start with the giants of philosophy

Never read any Deleuze or Guattari until you have done the work on Nietzsche and Klossowski.
