I have finished the first book and I really liked it. However I learned that the author hasn't released a new book in like 15 years so I don't think it will be ever finished. I want to find a similar series but one that is actually finished or will be
>>25504227I guess Bakker's, though I didn't read it.
>>25504227There are none.
>>25504273Bakker's series isn't finished either.
>>25504227Lord of the Rings, Narnia, Harry Potter, His Dark Materials, Twilight Saga
>>25504227>similar Similar in what way?>and I really liked itWhat did you like about it?
>>25504227First law trilogy by Joe Abercrombie or Liveship traders by Robin Hobb.
>>25504227There's nothing like ASOIAF, sorry.
>>25504227> hey everybody, i like looking at gay porno!ever wonder why slavery doesnt exist in westeros
>>25504227The Accursed Kings. You get all the political jazz without the fantasy, in medieval France. Also, Conn Iggulden's Wars of the Roses books.
>>25504227Malazan is the only series with the same complexity and depth as ASOIAF. It takes a lot of effort to get into though.Kingkiller is supposedly also great, but I've never read it and it's also unfinished
>>25504227I thought we're memeing Lyonnesse lately.
>>25504227the one that gets recommended the most is the first law trilogy and it blows in comparison to ASOIAF. GRRM's prose is very good for genre standards (apart from AGOT) and is much better than most contemporary fantasyjust read tolkien
>>25504519you're not smart and you don't fit in
>>25504289>Narnia,I'd rather read this on film but it doesn't even seem like the first book is even planned. Is that because it was written last or something?
Realm of the Elderlings, kinda. Similarly "grimdark" and some political scheming. Much more character focused and less about the plot.
