Fairly sure that's an old model, they have 11'' models with colors now, which would help with most textbooks. They also all come with high quality styluses for quick note taking. I don't know if they have newer ones on 13''. I never needed them also used mine for textbooks and cookbooks. Strongly suggest you visit the official website for better comparisons.

I have previously owned an older version of this model by Boox.

If you will be reading academic papers then 13" is a lot nicer than 11" because it's very close to A4 format. You can read a paper without have to zoom and pan which is a very nice difference.

This youtube makes pretty good reviews of eink readers. Even if you don't want to listen to a youtuber it's nice to see if being used to get an idea of how certain media looks on it.

They're nice, but there's definitely pros/cons. I sold it for a reason. If they were cheaper I'd reconsider. Personally, I loved the screen but hated the OS / Boox stuff. I'd much rather have an external eink monitor. Dasung makes some nice ones. That way I'm using linux + eink screen and not dealing with some Chinese android mess. There's a 13" monitor which is nice. Also a 27" which looks amazing but is way to pricey for me.
