What are the best books to understand the American/global meat industry? How did this start and how did we get here?
No such books. No one even wants to report basic facts such as all workers are basically poor immigrants in modern slavery. We are all going to hell.
>>25508868It starts with God giving us dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth and I suppose along the way industrialization like with everything else turned farming into a business that serves people garbage and calls it produce. Feel not for the tiny chickens though, roosters would eat their hens' eggs if not for farmers. Animals hardly deserve pity, nature is just as cruel as us for we are part of it. It's only Bambi and the Aristocats that make people care for animals more than they do for humans, which is the silliest thing in the world.
>>25508868Matt Beard thinks global hunger shouldn't be an issue. Matt Beard thinks meat farming is evil. Matt Beard doesn't understand that meat farming solves global hunger. Matt Beard is a retard.
>>25508890>jewish nonsense>blaming Bambi for people thinking the following systemic issue is ghastly problematic https://rumble.com/v798evg-secret-kosher-slaughterhouse-exposed-in-england-sickening-investigation.htmlCarthage didnt fall it seems.
>>25508888
>>25508891Matt Beard didnt say anything about global hunger and Matt Beard mighty very well think human populations shouldn't be built upon satanic loosh farming.
>>25508912Do animals have souls? Since you're an atheist this puts you in quite the paradox. Because to admit animals have souls would be to admit humans have souls which would be to admit God is real. To say animals do not have souls is to admit there is no moral standing on which to say what we do to animals is immoral. Have a good day, tranny :^)
>>25508890>nature is just as cruel as us for we are part of itThere's a vast difference between natural suffering and the artifical abomination that has brought trillions of lives into the world since 1945 just to suffer unprecedented agony. Keep the sophistry to the confines of your empty skull.
>>25508927God is real and animals have souls but the Jewish god is an Cannanite demon they used to throw their children into bronze bulls for. You are an unrepentant retard and I will be hiding all your following responses.
>>25508921Matt Beard is arguing from a moral standpoint. Matt Beard obviously believes a population collapse from changing the food supply infrastructure would be immoral. Therefore Matt Beard doesn't believe in overthrowing the "satanic loosh farming". How do you get rid of it without killing millions if not a cool billion or more from starvation and strained food supply lines. Seems pretty evil to do that...and we know Matt Beard doesn't like evil, hellish things...
>>25508931>animals have soulsGenesis says otherwise LARPing tranny.
>>25508934Wow, look at all that shit you brought up that Matt Beard didnt even remotely mentioned. Can you recommend some books on the original topic or can you stop rubbing your vile fingers across your keyboard/screen?

>>25508940>stop refuting my arguments!No.
>>25508868the baby chicks are killed instantly.the actual suffering happens to the ones stuck living in factory farms.
>>25508948>He used a 2D one to make it seem magnitudes larger.it didn't work, thing didn't look that big
>>25508951But imagine if you were the chicken...or if that chicken was your baby...
>>25508949You're inventing shit out of thing air. Fuck off for perpetuity.
>>25508931>God is real>But umm like not the one from the Bible cause that one is mean>the real one is the one that affirms all of my beliefs like baby chickens are super cute and we shouldn't eat them and a woman is a person who identifies as a woman and do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law (except for eating meat!!!)Are you the one whom I've argued with last year and who cursed me to an eternity of hell in the form of an abattoir? You claimed to be religious back then too. Sad to see your mental condition hasn't improved.>>25508928I don't think you know what sophistry is, silly man.Anyway, I've made from the start the clarification, albeit in a sly manner, that while I do oppose industrial farming, the fact does remain that animals exist for us to eat.
This will only get solved with lab meat. The demand for meat is simply not going to decrease. Either lab grown alternatives take off or meat substitutes get good enough to serve as an alternative.
>>25508955>A first world vegan also doesn't want to end world hungerThis is your argument.
>>25508891>>25508934In the EU alone millions of tons of food are wasted every year because farmers dump crops to reduce supply and turn a profit.Modern mechanized agriculture relies on massive amounts of pesticides and fertilizers being readily available at all times. If at any time, for any reason, they should happen to either become unavailable (say, if Iran chose to close the Strait of Hormuz) it would trigger a global famine. If you were really concerned about people starving you'd advocate for a more robust food supply rather than defend the status quo.
>>25508959Way to assume that killing insects and plants and bacteria is worse than killing animals. I mean up close some of them are even hecking cuter than baby chicks!
>>25508948>I am fine with one giant gore cube forming every year on top of the tens of billions of other chickens slaughtered every year on top of every cow, pig, ducks, turkey etc etcIs this automated botspam or is society just chalked full of utterly depraved fools including this deluded board? Not one of you have posted 1 fucking book on the topic yet. What the fuck is wrong with all of you?
>>25508964> (say, if Iran chose to close the Strait of Hormuz)... If you were really concerned about people starving you'd advocate for a more robust food supply rather than defend the status quo.>If you're really concerned about starvation you should be protesting Trump's war in IranI mean no one is for the war or really supports Trump anymore but by gosh you people are mentally ill. Can you focus on one fucking subject at a time? Not bring up retarded shit that has nothing to do with the discussion? In another thread talking about rape some guy started talking about trannies and gender. Your ilk are hopeless
>>25508965I am not the bleeding heart anon you’ve been arguing with. My concerns are more with the ecological costs of industrial agriculture, and the potential for zoonotic disease.
>>25508971Here's your book you tranny freak. As if you haven't been found out- you make shit bait threads like this every other month whenever the edibles hit too hard and you weep thinking about dead chickens. Fuck chickens, we don't kill enough.
>>25508946Whats the difference, neither has consciousness or self awareness.
Do I need to restart my fucking thread?
>>25508978You're psychotic. Thanks for demonstrating for everyone this issue is utterly rooted in the pits of hell.
>>25508979>neither has consciousness or self awareness.I don't see why that matters
>>25508977The overarching point stands that all you fear with regards to meat can be applied to lab-grown "meat" as well, especially risk of disease.
>>25508890Cross niggers really think like this
>>25508980My take is that yes, meat eating is largely unethical and especially so in the modern industrial farming way. Industrial agriculture is ecologically destructive and unsustainable, which is far more troubling to me than the moral costs. On the other hand, a lack of ruthlessness is a bad thing for a civilization. Look at vegetarian India, which got brutally conquered by meat eating Muslims. If Hindus/Buddhists had the ruthlessness required to eat meat perhaps they would have fought better against invasion. So we must be careful to temper our empathy.
>>25508995>If Hindus/Buddhists had the ruthlessness required to eat meat perhaps they would have fought better against invasionThe most retarded thought I've heard all day. Are you 9 years old?
>>25508995>what baptardism does to a nigguh
>>25508948>I'm fine with one basketball gym per year being filled with the corpses of baby chicksSo it doesn't bother you at all? And if someone discovered, for example, how to make lab-grown meat, physically indistinguishable from slaughtered chicken, for the same price etc, you would not prefer that we switch to lab grown? You'd just say "eh whatever, I'm fine with slaughtering millions of innocents or not, it makes no difference to me"!
>>25508995I have no issue with sustainably produced meat that comes from animals who lived decent lives. Japanese Waygu cows are the epitome of this, their cuts are the least ethically problematic pieces of meat you can have. And the mandarin character for vegitarian has a root association with cowardice. The ability to kill is natural and vital but it comes with further natural law restraints and considerations. The overall issue is that the industry thats arisen since the industrial revolution and especially since 1945 is so beyond the pale in scale and horror its unprecedented. It makes me question if theres a metaphysical evil to this matter. The amount of consumerism neuroticism this topic provokes doesnt alleviate that concern.
>>25508994Thank you anon
>>25508868not a book but this should help: there are around 8,500,000,000 of us and about double that number for meat-eating pets and livestock under our care. it is not possible for the food industry to be ethical at these scales.this includes agriculture as well, which absolutely decimates the actual land of an area, genocides entire species of insects, small mammals, birds, and plantsall we can do is jiggle the right lever so that the animal or insect you find less cute is the one going into the blender. does that really make you feel any better?
>>25509017>I'm fine with slaughtering millions of innocents or not"Innocent" is a moral term and applying it to things that are incapable of moral reasoning and action is appeal to emotion pilpul nonsense.
>>25509033>I forfeit my moral agency over my domain!Enjoy the inevitable collapse of civilization.
>>25509002It’s a flaw in the Dharmic worldview, and I think much of the defeat and suffering of the Dharmic peoples comes from it. Ahimsa, the concept of nonviolence, etc. all lead you down a road where you seek to minimize your negative impact on the world. This leads to the idea that asceticism being good. That is an absolutely catastrophic mistake, because asceticism is a civilization killer. It creates a class of parasites who drain the finances of their society and don’t work or reproduce. Worse, in the Dharmic worldview these people are exalted, their rejection of life seen as a virtue. This poisons the whole society and leads to inaction and the deification of “weakness.”Compare this to the Islamic worldview. The act of allowing animal slaughter, in fact encouraging it on Eid, forces the Muslims to interact with the world, with blood and death. It is not a coincidence that Muslims ban/heavily discourage asceticism and certainly do not see it as a virtue. In the Muslim world, ruling is a virtue, conquest is a virtue. There is a reason Muslims conquered India and not the other way around. The Sikhs try to balance both worlds, and their balance costs them when it leads to the Dharmic ideas of nonviolence and asceticism. When they pursue power and conquest in the Muslim fashion, they are rewarded.
>>25508987so whats the issue
>>25509033Human babies are incapable of moral reasoning and action yet we call them innocent nonetheless. It's you who is pilpulling. You have no arguments so you latched onto that term as if it's some kind of gotcha
>>25509028>does that really make you feel any better? No, you're just making it clear that contemporary society is beyond saving and that its better to crash the global population of demented last men so that a smaller population that isn't destined for hell can actually live life worth living.
>>25509040One is murder in the eyes of God and one isn't.
>>25509041>Human babies are incapable of moral reasoning and action yet we call them innocentHumans qua Lifeform (moral grammatical subject) are capable of moral reasoning and whether Human A at time T1 has its moral reasoning capacity intact does not change this. Hence we also do not think it's okay to kill an unconscious human who, at T(x), is obviously not capable of reasoning and action. >>25509036"morals" are something that exists between two or more moral agents. It's not some abstract, out-there-in-the-cosmos thing.
>>25509049>It's not some abstract, out-there-in-the-cosmos thing.Yeah it is, you Godless demon.
>>25509021Waygu can only exist because the unethical industries exist. It's a luxury and at volumes that couldn't even sustain a single school district if pressed into servicewhen your nana knits you a scarf it's super comfy and warm, worlds better than the chinkslop on Amazon for sure. but what do you think happens to nana, not to mention the quality and cost of the scarves, if you slip her an order for 100,000 units by next Friday?
>>25509052Someone who was a moral realist and believed in God wouldn't think that morals are an abstract thing out-there-in-the-cosmos, stop the larping.
>>25509054Waygu is just the extreme example to prove the general point that meat eating doesnt and isnt always utterly depraved. And harping on the economies of scale just pivots the matter to the point that industrial mass society is irredeemable.
>>25509057Go read Plato you uneducated nigger.
>>25508868>What are the best books to understand the American/global meat industry?"Tender is the Flesh"
>>25509021Ironically anon for all the praise I’ve given to meat eating civilizations ITT I myself am vegetarian. For me the justification is that helps lower my ecological footprint and lower the risk of food borne illness. There’s certainly a cowardice and emotional weakness to it. I considered hunting once but I felt pity for the quails and their little families when I watched hunting videos on YouTube, and my IRL interactions with baby cattle on a farm turned off my taste for beef. But what can you do? Those born with weak wills have weak wills. I will never be capable of the power and strength of a Timurlane. It is a shame because our civilization needs such men and I am not one of them.
>>25509042your next mistake is thinking nature is any more noble or ethicalthe only reason *any of this* works at all, all of our life, our entire ecosystem, is that evolution allows species to find a niche the horrors and wastes of the species above them
>>25509083The natural world operates upon harmony. Harmony is abhorrent to modern civilization, which acts more as a terminal tumor that wont stop growing till the system collapses because it has zero respect for natural boundaries and balance.
>>25509088oh you've been trolling this whole time? bummer
>>25509088Terminal tumors are part of nature, as are viruses, and algae, and mold, and invasive urchins, and humans. Any organism won't stop growing until it is stopped by something. Stop huffing your hippie farts, nature has zero respect to your made up harmony and balance.
>>25508912Why is this kosher shit allowed? It looks insanely fucking cruel. That video is a scene from Hell.
>>25509083It is both more noble and more ethical. There is a unique kind of horror in the mass industrialization and systematization of the world.
>>25509114>kill animal to eat it:/>kill animal to eat it and pray during the act :O
>>25508912Hitler did nothing wrong
>>25509121oh yeah for sure man, for sure, so long as we don't look anything up and remain ignorant we can definitely think these things, absolutely
Eating Animals by Jonathan Safran Fort and The Jungle by Upton Sinclair are good starting points. The problem is that factory farms run the industry, and America in particular is making moves to return the power to family farms.
You kids need to both lighten and toughen up. By the standards of nature this is hardly anything exceptional and we were doing far worse things to ourselves less than a century ago. I would rather go through a modern slaughterhouse as a pig than the second world war's <insert whatever atrocity you fear the most here> as a person. If you want to improve animal welfare you first need to fully understand what nature is (you won't like it) and where our place in it is and what *realistic* measures we can take to improve animal welfare. Retarded hippy vegan shit won't cut it, that's metaphysically equivalent to drowning a bag of puppies. The solution is to perfect the relationship we have with animals, not erase it, not replace it with horrific HR Giger shit just because some psychopathic nerd thinks it's cool.
Why are all of these faggots ITT talking about ethics and morals while seemingly operating within an atheistic worldview? No, faggot, even if you refer to Plato, you don't escape this, since he was hardly an atheist. If you want to appeal to his notions of The Good, you have to do it within a paradigm which contradicts all of your other beliefs.Yes I'll kill a F1 racetrack's worth of chickens to feed one person, because human life has intrinsic value, while livestock only has value insofar as it feeds humans. This is why we need TAG threads.
>>25509099You're a maggot crawling around in the nectrotizing flesh of a dying civilization that is so utterly removed from the natural order of things you dont even know it. Rousseau was right when to this question of society, its all artificial and the fact there are still zombies in 2026 who havent caught onto this is spectacular.>Any organism won't stop growing until it is stopped by somethingYes exactly, organic systems and their harmony operate from this, but what stoppage does our sadistic global system have? This is the problem of climate change, which threatens to stress critical points of the system to a global collapse on top of our stupid wars and cultural declines. Denial of harmony is nothing but modern hubris, a disgusting disregard for how the world works because you think you can just engineer and stuff your mouth to utopia upon the suffering of your fellow man and animal.

>>25508868No wonder those chicken nuggets were so cheap
>>25509163No it isn't, nature produced it. We used our natural intellect and God given power over the natural world and built it ourselves. At no point did God give us magic powers. Or do you consider sinful *acts in themselves* unnatural? Given all the shit dolphins get up to I have a hard time believe that.
>>25509172This. It's a question of how hard we want to work to undo the damage. We got the technological miracle we needed and almost no one talks about it, it's insane. Thank you Jesus.

>>25509148>maggot crawling around in the nectrotizing fleshNothing unnatural about that, pussy.
>>25508868
>>25509177Oh right, our current moderm class structure, mass consumerism, industrial mills, massive slaughterhouses, and atoms bombs are all natural despite never existing for tens of thousands of years prior in human history much less back to the dawn of the universe. Never mind the plethora of actual anthropological evidence and history that demonstrates the chasm even between hunters and gatherers vs petty agricultural tyrannies. Again, Rousseau was right, and you are retarded.
>>25509168I don't think it's a matter of people not getting the joke- we've all understood that you equate Christianity with Judaism, we just never acknowledged that because it's trite and unfunny. You don't have to repeat it.>>25509171Myself, I do eat well fed chickens and free range eggs, because I can afford them. Other people cannot so they buy lower quality, industry-farmed poultry. It's the same as it ever was, really: during communism not everybody could afford to acquire meat so they would settle for Doctor's sausage- I assume an equivalent would have existed in the West as well. I feel sorry for the people who cannot acquire quality food and I wish there were a way to circumvent that. I will never feel sorry for chickens because they are barely sentient squeakers and I didn't have access to Disney movie as a child.
>>25509191Know your place, parasite.
>>25509206Sorry but your abrahamic brain worms dont have a monopoly on monotheistic theology and ethics.
>>25509208Don't you think it's a bit weird for somebody who jerks off to le harmony of le nature to use everyday natural phenomena as an insult? Or does your definition of nature somehow excludes parasitic organisms?
When ww3 happens, and billions die, we will get knocked back to antiquity, never to reindustrialize since all the oil and coal thats easy to get to has been extracted. We will be stuck at a enlightenment-period level of technology, forever. This is the best thing that could possibly happen to humanity
>>25509215Cool, that's fine, so name your monotheistic religion and the ethical framework it spouted which says that an animal's life is more important than a human being fed. Unless it's some schizo tranny babble wherein you've come up with a nondescript god of your own which just so happens to align in ethics to all what you believe
>>25509222Sorry you are too stupid to grasp the utter rot of our current society and how that makes your standing actually worse than a natural parasite.
>>25509132Nobody is saying nature isn't brutal you retard, but industrial society is additionally horrifying in its scale and systematization of slaughter.

>>25509222Eh, you're equivocating on "nature" when we both know it can also be used to refer to "what is untouched by civilization" (or pic rel if you're a pedant). Funky though that the basedman couldn't argue this in 2 hours of arguing.
>>25509243There's plenty of parasites in places untouched by civilization
>>25509153>>25509177God what a retarded, trite point to make.>Oh you defined your terms thus? Well I define them so that they don't really exist It's just so fucking stupid and boring. Who really wants to have a conversation like this? You know damn well what is meant by 'nature'. And even if anon accepts your moronic definition, he can make the same argument as before but replacing natural and unnatural with pre industrial nature and post industrial nature or nature with and without humanity. You haven't actually overcome the obvious distinction that he's pointing to which marks some kind of epochal shift whether or not you want to call it natural. This is why you're a gay retard, because you don't engage with the substance of the idea.

>>25508868Tolstoy's short essay on his trip to the slaughterhouse is powerful, I'd recommend reading it.Also compassion, non-violence, and suppression of base instincts are staples of Christ's teachings. Fake internet Christians seem to have an endless tolerance for cherrypicking verses, ignoring the gospels, and using said verses to justify acting in perfect opposition to Christ's teachings. One would say they should feel ashamed of themselves, but shame has clearly long abandoned them since they're willing to twist the word of God for their own ends
>>25509289Christians ought to restrain from animal produce twice a week, 40 days before Easter, 40 before Christmas, and numerous other times throughout the year.Where do you get off, though, associating the prescripted abstinence from meat for spiritual purposes (as you yourself say when mentioning suppression) with some sort of mercy towards animals? Compassion is for other humans, violence is never said in the Bible to ought to always be avoided, we're told to abstain from meat to strengthen our resolve and not because baby chicks are cute little things which we ought not kill. Much like the "platonist" above, and other transsexuals, you apply a personal interpretation of Scriptures that is unique and incorrect and attempt to shame Christians for not following the rules you've come up with. I work in a grocery store and I regularly work pallets of meat. I take active delight in knowing that the contents of the pallet require at least several dozen individual animal carcasses for their assembly, whether chicken, cow, fish, lamb, or pig. The various cuts of beef are available, as are the usual parts of a chicken. It's wonderful knowing that our mastery of the animals is such that these pallets are put together out of several highly efficient processing (killing) facilities and conveyed to the stores at reasonable prices. And every so often, a pack of meat, or sometimes even entire cases that have been neglected or are technically one day past their sell-by date, must be discarded outright even though really, they're perfectly fine. I enjoy the idea that this routine of animals dying for nothing may scandalize at least one of you.Even the pallets of meat take on a perverse religious significance in my mind. They are regularly covered with dark blankets to preserve temperature, and these blankets have light-colored velcro strips so that they can be folded onto the pallet and enclose it. The thing looks like the Kaaba. A Kaaba full of pork. Now there's an idea. We should teleport a bunch of pork directly into the Kaaba, the interior of which is largely empty. Then put a force field around the thing for a few days so they can't clean it up and it really starts smelling horrible.
>>25509338It strikes me as odd that you put "correct" in quotes as if in fact there isn't one correct interpretation. Wouldn't that render your stance meaningless? Anyway, the correct interpretation is that of the Holy Fathers of the Church who've compiled the Bible and presented you with the teachings of Christ under guidance from the Holy Spirit. Also, using God to justify your own, greed, selfishness, and apathy for other living creatures is blasphemy. Your argument sounds like something Satan would come up, and that's not a mere insult. Your logic is literally the type of reasoning Satan used when he tried to tempt Christ.
>>25509311factory farming is substantially different from premodern animal agriculture, and i think it's reasonable for a christian to reject it without declaring meat-eating categorically immoral. in the same way, it's reasonable for a christian to accept that death can be a punishment for a crime in principle while also believing no currently existing state has the moral authority to justly apply that punishment as policy.
The animal rights movement is just feminized urban libtards who've never stepped foot on a farm.
>>25509706Mine was obviously a tongue-in-cheek response to a presumed vegan who, without any sort of grounds for ethics, implies it unfair for man to eat animals. I and others point out that my moral system permits and indeed encourages meat consumption, while he doesn't even have an ethical framework to stand on. Within the post that you quoted you can see that I criticize the industry that serves low quality, barely-can-be-called food, chiefly because of that, though, and not merely because it tortures animals, because animals are there for us to feed on them. The dishonesty in pretending not to see that coupled with your repeated use of hellish imagery reminds me that you're OP, the eternal seething tranny and samefag and I bet you're getting frustrated at me being on to you at all times.
>>25509710The fact of the matter is most people cannot afford free range, and I would rather that weren't the case, though this has been true for the entirety of history. Today they have a choice of factory meat or veganism, as compared to the choices of gruel or starvation in medieval times. Vegetables are, too, though, either grown with consciousness or not. The notion that the mass production of fruit and vegetables which requires the use of pesticides which not only damage the environment and the produce themselves, but also kill millions of living things is somehow more in line with Christianity than factory farming is silly to me. This on the basis of what, that you can maybe pick out the sadness in a bovine's eye, but not in a beetle's?And again, I do oppose factory farming, based on its lack of morals demonstrated in selling people unhealthy foods, on the shady dealings that those people must have with the governments that allow them to peddle such food- and then, way down in my list of grievances, is the "torture" of animals. I think torture implies intent- no one is doing it out of sadism, certainly not the citizen in the dairy aisle. >it's reasonable for a christian to reject it without declaring meat-eating categorically immoralEscape that if you can. No ethical consumption and all that. Saint John the Baptist ate locusts dipped in honey. Priests will tell you, however, as does the Bible, that monastic life isn't for everybody. Even still, good luck finding "ethical honey".>>25509469>I see a rationalization and a plain contradiction when I see itHey that's some great epistemology. >>25508868When you consider the RAW amount of food waste that then just goes into a landfill. It really gets the noggin a joggin. That's not even considering things like incentives to ONLY grow certain crops via government intervention/stoppage, knee capping farmers, farming inappropriate crops for the region, soil quality and climate (take Arizona and the desert farming where they use fucking industrial sprinklers like in the midwest instead of drip lines, and then grow crops that aren't even adjacent to desert climates). Then things like logistics as well, and destroying current farm land in favor of mega-warehouses.You can have grass fed animals with just the sheer amount of plains in the US available, but gotta shove a thousand animals in a cubicle and then pump them up full of steroids and medicine so they don't get sick.
>>25509958I forgot to add, for food waste, not just letting people, you know, have the food free or at a discount price instead of having the food. I used to work in a grocery store, and every quarter we would empty out AISLES of food. Same with meat, just being thrown out en'mass. It boggled my mind.

Unless we go back to smoked and salted curing and then freezing might make food waste less impactful. But I legit saw fucking mountains of meat wasted in the dumpster, and a feast for the flies, which always made me extremely cynical of the society. I've also done logistical work where I've gone first hand to some of the factory farms, notably egg and poultry, and the animals are so over-stressed and sensitive to disease/sickness, you have to go through a whole quarantine process. Same with things like semi-trucks arriving to pick up eggs, the entire inside has to be sanitized, and the outside has to be sprayed with a sanitization foam product before being allowed on the premises.>>25509983>Natives subsisted off the buffalo for thousands of years this way and they were nearly wiped off the face of the earth by the millions in less than a generation.Yeah, it's fucking wild. I've traveled a lot for work, especially through the US, mid-west and farther parts of the mid-west (Wyoming, Montana, Utah, South and North Dakota, etc.) It's just fucking empty plains. Not even farming, just plains. And I always wondered why they just didn't throw a shit ton of cattle out there to graze on huge tracks of land. I've had some unique experiences being part of the logistical chain, and the waste always bothered me. Like a semi-truck refrigerator was failing, and instead of trying to salvage almost 45k worth of food, they dump it while it's still good. And then some "privileged" people get to pick over the best scraps.

There's really no point discussing the obvious immorality of eating meat with most people. Most people are fat, weak, spiritually diseased things with no consideration for anything beyond being given license to indulge their every appetite without thought for the consequences. You get EXACTLY the same knee-jerk, hostile whine of "j-j-just shut up!" from most westerners when you talk about the evil of meat as you do from women when you talk about the evil of abortion. These aren't people, in any meaningful sense. They're just stomachs on legs. You'd have a more productive time bashing your head off a wall than you would talking to them about anything.
>children are fine with killing bacteria, insects, rodents, because they're not as cute as baby pigletsI bet if I show you enough of these pictures you'll be protesting hand soap within the week
>>25511164>insects, rodentsKilling rodents is obviously unacceptable. Killing insects is probably unacceptable in most circumstances. "Hurr if you wash your hands that means it's fine for me to eat cats and dogs" isn't a very convincing argument because you obviously don't believe it. As I said >>25511140 "j-j-just shut up!"

>>25511091How do you provide daily meat to 330 million people (US) or 8 billion people (worldwide)?
>>25511091No they couldn't retard.
>>25510611Yes, necessary. The worldwide calorie need is around 16,000,000,000,000cal *per day*. Let's say around 40% of that (6,400,000,000,000cal) should be in the form of proteins; 1g of protein = 4cal, so that means we need around 9,000,000,000 pounds of protein, per day, to come from *somewhere*and that's a) just calorie maintenance for an average weight individual, b) only us, not our pets and livestock who require protein, and c) there's going to be spoilage and waste so you have to produce a much higher surplus than you require, else people starve and dienot even vat-grown shit solves this problem, because that *also* requires factory farms and ranches because the tissue culture needs lots of macronutrients to grow. the numbers are just way too high to rely on some urbanites idea of farm life to provide for
>>25511618Nuts and plant-based proteins have plenty calories and protein content and again require far less space and resources than to produce feedstock just for the meat
>>25511562The unfortunate truth is that the average amerifat needs to eat drastically less meat. This is an obvious, banal observation but there exists a billion dollar PR industry to deny the basic fact that eating hamburgers every day makes you fat and unhealthy.Of course when you eat hamburgers every day, you'll be happy to hear that the bun is what's making you fat (keto), or that beef is actually helping the planet ("regenerative agriculture" scams). The biggest reason for pushback against eating less meat imo is the idea that you'll be eating onions substitute while your boss eats real meat, and I find this one the most compelling.
>>25511751you think meat makes you fat? amerifats could stand to each much, much more meat, it's the carbs that kill us. look up the calories of a hamburger, and be amazed that the burger itself amounts to probably fewer than half of the totalyes americans eat a lot of meat, in the same sense that literally every country that can afford to eats a lot of meat, because humans eat a lot of meat, because we're omnivores and meat remains one of the best sources of protein given its price and availability (to the body)
>>25511730you're assuming that's true without looking it up, which is not uncommon but it's disappointingbasedbeans, nuts, etc. crops require enormous amounts of land. a good microcosm of this entire argument can be found in what's happening in the Amazon rainforest. In the 80s and 90s the world became more aware of the deforestation and aimed to stop it, and at that time it was largely cattle ranchers. the government made enormous efforts to stop the beef companies, they levied fines and tightened regulations, and now? deforestation continues but it's being caused by basedbean croplands nowmost nuts require tremendous amounts of water and heat to grow properly, and when environmentalists aren't arguing that we should replace all meat with plant-based proteins they're arguing we need to eliminate legume, almond, and onions croplands because they're not sustainable and ruining the environment lolthe last problem with plant-proteins is that most of them are incomplete and thus you need to supplement. not a huge deal but it does illustrate that we'll never be able to get away from "food factories" and heavy processing
>>25508978Soft modernites treating the fact that they‘re the beneficiary of depersonalized technical mass murder (which isn‘t even a loaded term—I just literally cannot come up with a more neutral descriptor for the meat industry) and won‘t practice discrimination in the practice of consumption, as being some mark of manhood, is just the funniest thing. If you had two actual molecules of testosterone to rub together you‘d learn to hunt or build a coop or do something to take ownership of your food and meat intake instead of simply doing your shopping in a different aisle from the trannies you so hate.
>>25508868I read somewhere that in Hinduism reincarnation as a non-human animal constitutes a circle of hell
>>25512177>without looking it upA quick Google search will affirm that it's incontestable that if everyone switched to a plant-based diet the environmental toll of agriculture would be drastically reduced. It may surprise you to learn that the trillions of animals we unnecessarily slaughter each year require food to sustain.>we wuz the real environmentalistsYikes
>>25508868Jewish bankers did this. First they murdered all the buffalo and then they pushed people off their farms into cities. People used to have enough farm land to sustain themselves. Trips to the city were an infrequent occasion. I know some people that still had this as recently as 50 years ago. Everything was raised and done at home.
