Smart move anon. "If it's too good to be true," applies here. While there are some trustworthy ebook sites (Project Gutenberg, Standard Ebooks, Amazon ebooks for Amazon hardware) they don't have too much worth reading if I'm honest, and most of those pirate sites are sending harmful content.

I go back and forth on whether an xteink or kindle is better. I don't like bloated pagecounts that don't match the paperback, but at the same time, I find it harder to speedread on a kindle compared to my phone for some reason. I will never use a phone to read novels again though.

>>25511099Got one many years ago. Barely used it. Now it's in a self-storage unit and I don't miss it. Nice idea but ultimately pretty useless. They're laggy. They have residue on the screen from previous pages. You can't easily look up words and wikipedia etc. Also only brought it with me and used it on the bus for a little while, then I never had it with me because I wasn't riding the bus and wasn't using a backpack. If you're sitting on the bus or train for long commutes and only look up stuff rarely they might be good. But it's also just for epubs. They suck for pdf's, just forget it. Of course they might have gotten better.

I have a theory that Xteink>Kindle because the less wide a page is, the easier it actually is to read, and reading fast is actually about reading with as little strain and as much flow and seamlessness as possible over actually reading "quickly"
