I'm not wasting years of my life to become fluent in a language I don't even hear spoken around me on a daily basis just to read a fucking book. Translations are FINE.

Yeah, I would only learn a language if I had personal interest in the language itself. Learning an entire language just so you can read the handful of great books written in that language is nuts. There’s more than enough English literature to fill anyone’s lifetime even if you avoid translations completely
