This book changed the course of my life

You now know that a croissant is never just a croissant. This has unlocked literacy.
>>
I am reading the great Gatsby and I don't get it. I am past half the book and is super boring. It's just gossip...

I wish there was a way to make reading more enjoyable. I read certain literature that isn't really held in high regard and enjoy it immensely, but when i try reading something more renowned, difficult and layered I find it boring and see it as a chore.
Am I just stupid and simple minded?

It is likely that whatever you're reading was meant for academics and/or other fart sniffers - not really for the general public.

Don't read obscurantist slop if you don't like it. Just keep reading classics until you find out what you like. Me for example, I am obsessed with memoirs, just as Proust was. I end up having to force myself to finish most novels I read.

>eating at a table is a metaphor for sex
Sorry, but I can't take this book seriously because of this claim.
>>
>>25517612
Technically correct in that everything is a metaphor for sex.

Yeah the occult had a big effect on the world with sex magik. For example, a window is female because it starts with W which historically has meaning with the feminine and water. When a man (M stands for Mars, the Male aspect) Walks through a Window to go to Work, he is Wading through the Waters of life. He Walks erect through the gate, the opening on the body of a building, just like the Vagina (V was W in Rome) on a Woman's body. When you go to Work a Man has to "clock in" the same way a man puts his COCK IN a Woman When he's having sex. He must Wave to his coWorkers Who Wave back at him. He grabs his tools and Works until he is Worn and Weary. Then he goes home to his Wife. Sex is everywhere man

the type of knowledge you have to master before being able ro read like a professor:
>journals
>letters
>unpublished paralipomena
>footnotes in obscure secondary literature
>rumors mentioned off-record at private conferences
>familiarity with movie titles like "hamann at marienbad" etc
>>
>>25515142
>recognize both of those titles
I am becoming well-read, in the worst way possible. Hate U Give can be another ragebait thread in of itself.
