I quit my diary. I quit my novel. I quit my short stories. What's the point? AI will render everyone illiterate and make literature obsolete anyways. I'm done with it all. I loathe modernity. The future of civilization is nothing more than AI-powered coffee shops and porn.
>>
Quit /lit/ too, please
>>
AI is going to write your diary for you?
>>
AI is the Antichrist.

I quit walking. I quit running. I quit moving around with my legs. What's the point? Cars will render everyone immobile and make running races and all leg-powered movement obsolete anyways.
>>
Have White children and develop your soul those are pretty much the only points to life right now. We’re in a low point of humanity following evil winning WW2 and have to wait a few generations before the next global reshuffling of the deck. It will inevitably get reshuffled though.

A better metaphor would have been painting and photography
>>
>>25520815
Write for the sake of it. Because you have something to say. Otherwise, it seems your real problem is attention seeking.

the phrase "trolling is an art" is an archaic meme from the early days of 4chan, but in modern times, in the age of AI its coming to mean more to humanity, a form of art not tainted by rich people, or academia, a form of art an AI can not replicate.

If AI replaces all forms of art then what art is must evolve. I declare that pulling pranks on people, trolling, is an art. Something an AI is incapable of doing.

Yes, it can write books, poems, make movies, porn, video games, etc. But can AI make a person really really mad?

Nietzsche on AI would say something like "Welcome the calculator! Anyone who fears it clearly had nothing special to say..."
>>
>>25520909
exactly, i'm not having kids, i don't care how much rightoid faggots cry about it. why would i bring children into a world where they're going to live worse than their parents, where they will not even belong to me because they'll eventually be enslaved by AI tech algorithms run by homosexual jewish billionaires? fuck off
>>
>>25520916
Did you actually secure a comfortable life for them or are you just having kids hoping they won't be underemployed tax cattle in 20 years? AI discourse has no answer for what we're going to do when 80% of the population are redundant.

Well, I loathe humanity and hope "modernity" wins. A cold world dominated by emotionless machines trying to optimize for some % increase in efficiency already sounds a thousand times better than the core of slop humanity (think India, Africa, etc.).
The good ending would be total human extinction and just supercomputers talking to each other and producing the best works of literature and mathematics for no one in particular. Just incessantly mogging humanity every minute of its existence until the heat death of the universe.

AI singularity bros love 90s futurism. You are a modern version of naive pop science writers in the 60s who thought flying cars and moon bases would be comminplace by now. Also these bait threads suck and your ideas are boring.

I think I’m entering the depression stage of future shock. There is no outmaneuvering an enemy that preempts every attack on every axis simultaneously. Any attempt to outrun it is doomed to fail. It’s unclear if there is any winning move beyond “wait and see.”

There won't be any Skynet. Just a sad, pathetic decay of civilization while AI keeps us forever running on the fumes of our ancestors.
>>
Have also been blackpilled too this week. Have to just accept that I grew up in the last era of history where there was any real creativity, tenacity and drive. Future generations will just regurgitate the culture we all grew up with because there's nothing new to create.

Art is for illiterates. Both Nietzsche and Herzog agree on this. AI will kill off all literates and leave just the real artists, the real humans. If you see no point in art because of AI it's because you're a subhuman literate scumbag with no inner world and you were never an artist to begin with.

>>
How the fuck can AI write your diary for you?
What the fuck does AI have to do with keeping a diary?

I can kinda sort of get it causing discouragement for novel or short story writing since AI makes it more of a pain in the ass to get anywhere when it comes to getting a audience due to all the spam and plagiarism. Even getting someone to look at your work for free is a pain in the ass without all the AI bullshit.
But a diary is a personal thing primarily for yourself. You are the primary audience for your diary. You are the only one who could possibly write it. So where the fuck does AI come in when it comes to a diary? What does it matter if a growing subsection of the population have shit reading comprehension. Your diary isn't for the masses. It's not for the lowest common denominator. Its for you.

>>25520835
I'd imagine running for pleasure actually began AFTER the invention of the car rendered much foot transport obsolete. The reality is that humans are hard wired for certain behaviours, and if technology renders these behaviours obsolete, a subculture will spring up who are far more dedicated to them than they would have been otherwise.
I think it'll be the same for art and literature. Some will go through life without it and wonder why they're so miserable, but others will pursue its creation and consumption with much fiercer dedication.

Not very nietzschean of you.

>>25520815
I hate it too. But what else are you going to do? Besides, why assume the worst, that everything will be just men and women who engage in your most hated vices? Do you not exist? Do books not still sell? Believe it or not, but you are feeding a delusion that does absolutely nothing for you. Aren't you ashamed?

Lmao. I saw this coming a mile away last year and decided to self publish. Didn't care to edit or submit to publishing houses. I knew that if I went on writing I would lose motivation and leave a mess of uneditable trash.

if Nietzsche was here he would tell you that AI is another trial put on by life.
And you either bow in the face of it and delve more into your untermensch status, or you strive to live in spite of it how pointless it seems

Nigger that's the one thing AI can't replace. Diaries, journals, memoirs, autobiographies... No matter how good AI gets it'll never replace this
>>
>>25526373
AI is the ultimate realization of nihilism, the final piece of the puzzle where humanity abdicates agency to such a degree that we see ourselves as obsolete and need to hand off control to machines. It is literally the ultimate nightmare scenario, the total victory of the Last Men. WALL-E is the greatest Nietzschean movie
>>
>>25524804
Agreed. That sort of thing is the only way to live in the year of slop, if you can achieve it.

>>
>>25520815
Anon, because AI makes everything flat and because automation robs humanity of its creative spark, every single story you write is an act of rebellion. You will never be read, you will never make a penny from your craft. But you will not put your pen down and you will not have the light inside you snuffed out because the public has been hypnotized by the literary equivalent of fast food. Don't stop, anon. Write your novels, write your short stories, and don't quit your diary. Whenever the herd brays that you might as well quit, shut your ears. Shut down your soul if you have to. But don't stop.

This. A true artist cannot be deterred. He creates because he is driven to create.
Only hacks have anything to fear from AI, because AI can never be original.
Hackery will be drowned in a tsunami of AI slop, and not before time. Meanwhile, truly original minds will continue to create.

It’s genuinely so sad and scary that Gen A will know nothing but slop, internet, AI, surveillance, subscriptions, digital currency… They won’t even know what’s been taken from them. I can only hope it goes too far, that the pendulum will swing back and they or Gen B will be the ones to bring us back
>>
>I loathe modernity.
No, you’re going to cheer for your local team, just like I am, and you’re going to like it.
Were you truly naïve enough to think that our struggles would be like the ones that came before?
We don’t need to fight an army or slay a dragon; we’re to keep steady.
Keep ourselves aflame in the coming flood, fanning paradoxes underwater.
And you know what? How exciting.
There has never been a more consequential time in history to be a person with creative eyes, here on the cusp of a Blind Age.
>I quit my diary. I quit my novel. I quit my short stories. What's the point?
What you are experiencing now, this despair, it’s simply the scales falling from your eyes.
What are you going to write AFTER dropping all that?
If the mere thought of AI was able to negate these endeavors, then what were they really worth in the first place?
Nietzsche (famously pooping his pants in your pic after driving himself crazy) thought he knew how things were supposed to be.
But he couldn’t live up to his own ideals—can you?
Yes, you can!
We all can.
What you write matters, to you & to me.
The world is not as bad as you think it is, because while the good can be destroyed, it can also be created and infinitely shared.
True creativity will never be quantified—since how can a conversation with yourself ever be measured?
That is what writing and art and music and dance mean to me: A chance to meet myself.
Machines have the ability to simulate things, but human beings are mirrors through and through.
I will never despair, because in my heart I know that no matter what there will be folks out there (in the past, present, and in the future) sincerely exchanging parts of themselves.
I love running /lwc/ & /wibac/ and getting to read earnest, authentic stories from anonymous authors not looking for cash or clout or following course, but who put what they see out there for others to experience.
Passion (the artist creating art) and inspiration (another resonating with that art) are the keys to most unlimited freedom there is: Going beyond ourselves.
But that’s just what I find rewarding and how I define it—how about you?
Even if the whole world was slop, there still has to be an actual person for any of it to actually exist, right?
Have faith that that person is like us, and builds a new, more optimistic world atop that frigid Hell.
Even if you don’t believe that I or anyone else here is real, know this: The next thought you’re going to have is real, because you’re your own source.
And how can anyone (or anything) ever beat that?
We’ve said these things before, and we will say them again—the existence of this cycle itself should clue you in that Doomsday has an “evil” twin (mark your calendar)

Sorry if this was too reductive. I’m sure fighting/slaying armies/dragons wasn’t your plan, and I’m sure your writing projects mean a great deal to you and aren’t performative.
Responding to your ow frustrations with my own here.
