How do I get more out of the book I've read?
I usually forget it's content after a year or even less
>>
people will say keep a reading journal and this one honors class i took in college made us do that for when we wrote the big paper at the end but honestly i didn't do it lol i didn't get a good grade either but then again i didn't care

Read very very slowly. Look at every word with your eyes.

Read very very fast. Every second that passes is more time to forget what you've read.

What do you need to retain it for? If this question has no answer, retention will be near impossible. Like shopping without any idea of what's missing at home - you'll just get the basics.

Stop smoking weeb

What do you read? Because there is a good chance you dont remember because you aren't even reading good books worth remembering.

You pick 3 books and read them religiously, meditate on them for a lifetime, and allow them to permeate your soul

The second reading is always delicious.

This is a good idea. I try to journal regularly anyway and will talk about the books I'm reading and even without actually looking back at it I'll remember what I ended up writing down.

This too. I always remember people saying weed is terrible for short-term memory but I found that what it actually completely fucks up is your ability to form deeper, long-lasting memories. My reflections back on when I smoked weed are very hazy and I never should have done it in the first place.
