Please leave keep fantasy, sci-fi, horror and other genreslop meant for retarded children out of this thread. Drama, literary fiction, and nonfiction, which are meant for intelligent adults, are welcome here.
bait
>>25544213Remember that your precious "literary fiction" is just the drama genre. Also, you've never dared to post your writing.
Fight scenes are kinda boring to write. Hate them
>Write opening paragraph>It's shit>Workshop it>Somehow worse>Try again>Still shitMan, I think the concept of first-line real estate has actually ruined me.
>>25544240I shared my writing years ago. Unsurprisingly it went over your heads because you’re a bunch of imbeciles obsessed with space elves wielding laser swords to fulfill prophecies or something. Maybe if you lot can convince me you’re no longer the slobbering idiots you were during Covid I’ll deign to share more of my work. But that’s unlikely.
>buy an adok
>>25544267So you're still nursing a grudge over something that happened here years ago? Even by the standards of 4chan, you need to get a life. Also, PYW or STFU.
>>25544275lol. No, it’s not a grudge. I understand that, being my lessers, you’re too simple to have meant ill. I don’t bear grudges against insects. But I am trying to make you better.
>>25544281You're not trying to make anyone better. You're just trying to assert your superiority, and with zero ground to boot. Pee why double-yoo.
>>25544286No u.
After using both for several years now, I think I unironically prefer Word to Scrivener. It's less bloated, but it has fewer features that you would actually want. Trying to edit something is a pain, and the formatting is weird. I just wanted to add some comments for later so I can reconstruct a paragraph better later, but it doesn't do that.
Any advice for someone starting out with NovelAI? I asked in the last thread and only got a response from some Luddite.
>>25544267Link to where you shared your writing in the archive and I'll give it a fresh look. If you can't do that, then you're just a mindless troll.
>>25543982Its serviceable. Follows meh. Melee fight scenes are rather tedious to write out, so making it short and sweet makes it digestible, just skim it and move past. But if there's 3+ men fighting, be very very sparse with the word 'he' because no one knows which of the three men the 'he' refers to. Call them by name every time (or at least once a sentence). Same with the swords, dont call them ambiguous swords call them scimitar/longsword/shortsword etcI think if you want to actually push a written fight scene into memorable, you need a stronger sense of rhythm, repetition and emphasis of certain things. The distraction at the door is the fatal error? Emphasize it hard, slow things down in slow motion, that's the character's fatal flaw, always getting distracted at the worst moment. If one of his arms is injured/tired, keep repeating that aspect. In my humble imo
>>25544270looks good buddy
My cover > your cover
>>25544308Lol the archive only goes back three days, idiot.
>>25544296No split-screening and no instant file/chapter/note swapping makes Word a complete nonstarter for me. But you're right, in-line highlighted comments are pretty nice. Surprised Scrivener doesn't have it.
More Fat fetish work. I wanted to try something in the vein of those 90s kids horror Goosebumps stories. I'm open to suggestions for the plot of my next story. https://rentry.org/4vap6x43
>>25544303you're doubly retarded because 1. you're writing with ai 2. you're using a really shitty tool to do itwhy novelai? you can't even be stupid properly
>>25544327No, https://warosu.org/lit/ goes back years. And you knew that. You're just flailing frantically to avoid posting your writing. Coward.
>>25544327Wow, you're definitely not autistic enough to be this much of a dick if you don't even know shit about the archive
>>25544350>>25544361Sorry, I come here to discuss writing and not get a certification in using 4chan. But since you think searching the archive is so easy you go dig up my writing.
>>25544270BasedBore could never
I wrote a novel more complex, dense, intricate and intelligent than Finnegans Wake but I'm not posting it here because it'll be casting pearls before swine.
>>25544379Same, bro.
>>25544379I wrote one of these too but I deleted it as an artistic statement about the transitory nature of life
>>25544379I wrote a fantasy novel with swords magical spells fighting monsters and scary ghosts
>>25544368I can't. I don't know who you are or what writing you posted. Only you know that. Stop making excuses and prove your story is accurate. Spoiler alert: you'll either clam up, or keep making excuses.
>>25544379I re-imagined Finnegans Wake if it were set in the omegaverse, but the internet's not ready, you can't even tell where the tags end and the story begins
>>25544379Let's be real if JJ lived now and posted that book here it would be dismissed as schizobabble
>>25544418Well you seem to have this all figured out so you go on dealing with yourself.
