I've been on a few, but I didn't quite like them. Since 4chan is anonymous and temporary, it ends up feeling pretty disorganized. I'd like to be able to see people's profiles and check out what they've written before, have threads that actually stay up instead of disappearing, and ideally be able to send direct messages too.Do you have any experience in other forums?

The whole RS online space phenomenon is something I was never really a part of but it's kinda fascinating and confusing to me. I know several people who use various RS offshoot discords or whatever but none of them actually like the podcast. I think in the dying internet age those spaces just become some sort of last bastion of community with shared taste or something.

I’ve been coming to /lit/ intermittently for 10 years now. I don’t know why I do it. I started using this board shortly before the election and the wave of new fags which ruined the delicate ecosystem of a slow board which had several posts up from months ago with active, reasonable posters that directly quoted the texts in prosodic effortposting. The age of silver came next where the last few stragglers of that once mighty academy found themselves wanting for their like among the ever rising tide of shitposting and literal CIA psyopping. I would say that about 80% of /lit/s old users from this period quit here and just never came back. Then after about 4 years of strangling every last inkling of creativity and passion for the humanities out of this place there was Covid and somehow it got worse. Then the mini revival of 2023 and now which is still shit but at least the /pol/ fags have mostly left. This place sucks cock but really it’s all we have. There’s r/truelit which can be pretty good if not a little tryhard undergraduate but every now and then there’s something I get from here that reminds me why I keep coming back.
