So I worked in a book store as a side hustle for a few years. Would see these guy's titles on the shelves LOVED the covers. They appeared to be classic sci fi, awesome heroes, and in early research and news I heard about them they seemed to...dare I say it...bend a bit conservative???I submitted one of my novels to them (Honestly, its my dream novel, magnum opus, epic political fantasy series) and I actually got out of their slush pile, took like 8 months to get the rejection, but getting out of the slush felt pretty good.So now I think "Okay, maybe these guys 'GET me' maybe I should try to write something they would like"Begin doing research on them...looking for books they've published to ready and study up on what they like to print, and trying to brainstorm a story that would cater to themI do research...oh fuck, its all Pajeet slop and Stronk Women. I'm not political, but I understand that SWM fiction is near impossible to get published, where the fuck can we go, if Baen isn't safe what the fuck is out there for us...We all know why this is happening...The "THEYs" do not want young white men to have heroes...
You need to adopt as aggressive and hostile a posture towards traditional publishing as you possibly can. Attack editors and literary agents on social media. Harass people who work in the publishing industry. Loudly postulate that all the big New York houses could and should go bankrupt.If they want straight white men to be the villain, then let's be the fucking villain. Say hello to the bad guy. Make them feel threatened, actively threatened, by you.
