It doesn't really need to be a formal biography, I would count this or storm of steel as being in the spirit of a biography. If it can be of strange or interesting people, better.
I don't want to read ghostwritten biographies based on interviews. That's why I almost exclusively read writer's autobiographies. I assume they have enough self respect to write the whole thing themselves. But I think older mathematician's autobiographies were not ghostwritten. Because mathematicians are just that kind of arrogant bastards. Comedians too, a lot of them are wannabee writers.
You mean autobiographical stuff? Try Augustine, Babur, Cellini, Pepys, Rousseau, Casanova, Chateaubriand, Amiel, Jung
Try Al Jourgensen. It's great!

I'm enjoying Ernie Pyle's books. He was a war correspondent in WW2, and his books are in the public domain now: https://www.fadedpage.com/csearch.php?author=Pyle,%20Ernie
Richard Kaczynski wrote an excellent biography of Aleister Crowley titled “Perdurabo”.

>>25553098Yes I do agree, but many soldiers were writing their own shit for instance. I'd like to know biographies from non writer things, like not necessarily from a non writer, but about their interesting life apart from writing. Jünger is a prime example, he was not a writer in the war. He is a soldier, London is for the most part of the pic related a bum, a white collar worker and self educating.
>>25553126Are you the same anon who's mentioned Chateaubriand in now several threads in the past month? Because I want to know if I have an ally - it sucked feeling alone in this crusade.
>>25553496Errm I think I made like 3 posts mentioning him in the last month so I'd be inclined to say no, but since this board is a wasteland it could very well be me actually. Maybe there's another person on this board who has read him, who knows. You could consider me an accidental ally since, without even trying to go on a crusade, I'll keep recommending his stuff because I luv him.
>>25553590I'm the op of this thread and I have read 4 masoch books this month. There is like one other Sacher Masoch fan in existence in this board and they mixed him with me. Strange alliances do form.
>>25553660>I have read 4 masoch books this monthThat's impressive, I didn't even know he had more than two kek
>>25553681The Venus in furs, the mothergod is very good, the hyena of Putzsa is just porn and reading the Jewish tales as an antisemitic person is strange. It's hard to find translations into Spanish, so I have to use french to further read him, or English.
