I just parse words without actually internalizing them while ignoring all the allegories, metaphors, hidden meanings, symbols, arguments, logical sequences and conditionals. The superficial understand of the dictionary meaning of the terms on the page is sufficient for me, and if what I read makes me feel good then I keep reading and enjoy the book, otherwise I stop reading.
Needles to say I'm retarded in the medical sense.
