Which sections should I check out first to get a decent handle on Christianity? My goal is not to convert. I am just reading this as a form of self-help/philosophical learning.

If you want Christ philosophy just go straight for the new testament and ignore the Jewish prophecies, although read Ecclesiastes and Job
>>25556793Start with Jesus's sermon in Matthews. End with John apocalypse.
>>25557119But Ecclesiastes and Job are in the New testament?
>>25557119NT doesn't make sense without the Law. If you aren't reading the Books of Moses you arent understanding the New Testament at all.
>>25557141No they aren't>>25557147Why?
>>25557327>No they aren'tSo why not?
>>25557332Stories in new testament aren't very complex, you can figure Jesus is going against rabbis? If this is what you mean by bringing up Moses law?
The stories of the Bible are all interconnected. If you don't have a grasp of the OT you'll miss a lot when it comes to the NT.

>>25557426Why you gotta be mean?>ummm ackshually you must read the whole Bible in Arameic to truly understand it's meaningshut up retard. Why do you even reply if you have nothing to say? Obliterated with simple logic and facts. Sad.
>>25557434>Why you gotta be mean? It's obvious you don't know what you're talking about. >Why do you even reply if you have nothing to say?"DUR LORE!"Fuck off, retard.

For the OT you gotta hit genesis, exodus, job, Ecclesiastes, and Isaiah. Song of solomon is short and fun, so do that. If you feel like a little more, do kings and chronicles plus the later prophets (Jonah and amos could give you something). Obviously you need the gospel plus acts and revelations. Paul's letters and the epistles of John have value, but I wouldn't say they have much more to say than some of proverbs or psalms. The important thing with the Bible is to go slow and enjoy yourself. You'll find tedious passages; id say it's best to move on to what speaks to you. You'll always find something.
