Why was evolution less of an issue for Catholicism than it was for Protestantism? Any books like picrel which discuss it?
protestants rejected christian tradition so they had to put way too much emphasis on the bible. during high catholicism more people read the golden legend than the bible, it wasn't that important because christianity by way of catholicism was a tradition going back to christ, protestants through that all away and were left with an old book which coincidentally went well with their new printing press, oh shit mode of production creates superstructure? marx is wack but sometimes he makes u think tho.

>>25586617Meme answer: the church never issued any official documentation denying it. John Paul II thought it was acceptable to the Catholic perspective and encouraged discussion on it.Serious answer: the science of the soul can't reject a universal hypothesis. Evolution without god is a no go, evolution with god will find no shortage of precedents. The extent of this is nearly endless, with an infinite, Augustine thought the mind stayed the same but the body could evolve. He also tacitly rejected the week timeline in Genesis and thought everything was done in an instant. It's highly likely Aquinas agreed with this. Theoretically a strong case could be made that Aquinas thought a temporal gradual case was more common but the agreement was instant. For every Christian argument against evolution you will find a Catholic arguing for the possibility and inherent dignity of humans won't make the cut.

>>25586617Churches(building), sect, books, "priests", beads, etc. is all idolatry. You should put nothing between yourself and God.A lot of people only use beads, crosses, buzz-phrases, etc. as a form of cosplay, because it's more pleasurable or they have no soul, so they naturally seek evil things such as vanity.

>>25586617The Catholics warned what would happen if you let the laity read the bible and interpret it for themselves and their warning was 100% accurate. The normie will obviously interpret a holy work which they deem authoritative in a hundred thousand uniquely stupid ways which sound plausible to other normies and thus result in heresies springing up that have long-term implications baked into their idiotic assumptions, and when that cursed egg finally cracks they will simply refuse to acknowledge that the viper they've hatched is anything less than a lovely goose. This is also how you get retarded people repeating that The Prince is a satire, which it is not.
