It has been clear to me for the longest time that the true reason why these people hate Jesus and the God He mirrors is their hatred for absolute, consistent, universal principles.In their world, there is no reason to follow these because they do not believe in God, and thus, their god is the self. If you understand this, it all makes perfect sense.They hate absolutes because absolutes reveal that they are making a choice. They love the grey area because it allows them to hide behind ambiguity. They hate consistency because they want to eat but not be hungry, they want to drink but not be thirsty, they want love without sacrifice, and they want to take but never to give. And they hate universality because it reveals their hypocrisy and double standards.When Jesus said, "Do not resist an evil person," and, "If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also," this is a threat to them because they know that they won't let themselves live by these principles, and therefore, they want to suppress them and not see anyone else live by them either.Each time they see someone else live by these or try to live by them, it reminds them of what they are. Their hatred for God follows from this naturally.They obviously want judgment, as long as it is visible and based on what can be seen. They hate the idea of a God who judges based on the unseen because they know that, when it comes to them, what is seen and what is unseen are not alike.Instead of turning to God sincerely, they begin to scream, "There is no God!" This is what happens with anyone who makes the self their god. The self will always do what the self desires.You need something greater than the self so that you are able to overthrow the self. Anyone who is humble will turn to God and acknowledge what they lack, and anyone who comes to God in this way, He will never drive away.Much love to each one of you.
