Good for the field or damaging to philosophy?
>>25591098 Merleau-Ponty MOGS Husserl, everybody knows the rules
>>25591098Phenomenology should have ended with Heidegger. After that it kind of turned into a weird form of sociology, statistics, and scientism.
>>25591098I like it. Doesn't give you everything, but still has a certain charm that I come back to. Any recs for 21st century phenomenology? I took a look at rhythm analysis and found a similar charm.
>>25591098I am always receptive to suggestions.
>>25592283Not OP but reading an incredibly good Phenomenology right now, published in 2018, in fact. Pleasantly surprised
>>25591098Probably the best type of philosophy. Worst type is utilitarianism.
>>25592716Toilet totalitarianism?
>>25591098/pol mode onHusserl was a jew, so phenomenology was a jewish plot.
>>25591098phenomenologize on deez nutz!!!!
>>25591098>phenomenologyDoo doo dododo
>>25591108Mean-Mug-Maurice is the saving grace of French thought, the best to do it and the only one you should read.
>>25593467I wouldn't put it exactly like that but I do wonder whether the idea of "phenomenology" is derivative of something an earlier but far less popular and institutionally backed gentile said, but with a very heavy serving of jewish distortion and ideological abuse added on top. That's a lot more like how it tends to go rather than being created out of nothing as a conspiracy.
>>25591098its basically nothing... nothing
>wooooH bro we look at the world with our eyes and sense the world with our experiences woooooooooahhhhhLiterally stoner philosophy
>>25591098I don't think language can adequately express it so it's somewhat of a futile endeavor. Language is designed to describe the contents, but not the framework of phenomenology itself. I would say the same is true of the categories of reason generally. Art and poetry can sometimes stab at it but never to describe or define, but to depict.
>>25591098It’s okay. It’s basically just sociology these days though
