I read about this imageboard in Ella Dorn's article: "How 4chan became the home of the elite reader"

Well, I'm here.

Can you provide me with a classical education?

Don't waste our time. We'll read you out of town, kid.

Seeking out a classical education today is genuinely retarded. It invariably consists in LARPers (incl. Sister Miriam Joseph) debating over how angels speak and declaring that the human voice is unique in being symbolic while dressing up everything you should've learned in grade school in outdated terminology. Everything actually useful about it can be gained by studying a foriegn language and relearning math from the ground up. Just start with Basic Mathematics and learn Latin, Greek, French, and/or German.

I just took a classical crap out of my classical behind and there was a bunch of classical blood when I wiped. Classically, of course, it was a very Proustian wipe.

TOO BAD! Because anyone who spent more than a day on /lit/ knows that /lit/ does not read. This isn't 2016, it's 2026, everyone moved on a long time ago.

>Can you provide me with a classical education?
1) Quit this stupid shithole, it brings zero benefit to you, it has no redeeming qualities, nobody here is actually interested in discussing things or having genuine conversations, this step is actually mandatory and it's the hardest step in the whole list, 99% fail here
2) Choose any top 5 university in your country
3) Go to their websites, specifically the degrees tab
4) Find "English" (or whatever is the alternative in your country if ESL), "History", "Philosophy" (and "Physics" and whatever the fuck interests you the most) degrees, go to their pages, read the curriculum, take not of required/suggested readings, go to a library, pick the books and fucking read them
5) Optionally, if you are not broke and your parents care about your future prospects, actually enroll and get the degree
Here's your classical education, lil' bro

Postmodern mainstream academia has utterly lost the plot.

If you want the truest classical education, just start reading. Otherwise go do the trivium or quadrivium. If that doesn't suit, go find the older requirements for oxford and study that. Drop by CLG and learn attic greek while you're in there and maybe Latin. If you want a more modern version with only one tongue, find the uk syllabus focusing on politics, economics and philosophy. I forget the name.

If none of that suits? Some incredibly based anon made a beautiful pdf of plato's words. Get that, read Nicomachean Ethics and then pick a book from a lunatic no less than 60 years old, like Ibn Arabi or Julius Evola, doesn't matter who as long as they're genuine, then follow that up with some pop history on a period you like. Then choose a topic you find you enjoy and start chasing it. I like esotericism and heresies for example.

lesson 1: start with the greeks
>>
>>25593075
Doesn't matter which lunatic you read, as long as you pick one and they're genuine in their beliefs. It's good not only to broaden your horizons, but for critical thought and unpicking self assurance/belief from factual writing. As well as being able to reframe your view to match the person you're reading and consider it from their perspective.

Can you give me the full curriculum?

There is no agreed curriculum. Here's a common one. In the below link is also a preface to Plato and the mentioned pdf of Plato from earlier.

You need to have a foundational body of knowledge. Start with the Greeks. When you reach more modern philosophy, don’t even waste your time on Anglo-Saxon authors or the "analytic" school (apart from Wittgenstein), everything of any real interest is to be found within the continental tradition.
>>
>>25593347
Name the best analytic philosophers. You can't say there are none.

AI is also surprisingly good at coming up with booklists and curriculums, although probably not wise to trust it 100% on actual philological and history questions. You honestly can take education into your own hands very easily in this day & age.

Classic pseud take. You can't name any analytic philosophers without googling who aren't Quine or Russell

Why do fags and mods alike on this board think I'll use a year of my freetime dedicated to reading the books listed in a single image from a single shitpost? Holy shit, face the music- no one is interested. Reading 50 books in a listed sequence is more likely to summon a demon or cause permanent brain damage than to convey any type of info. I'll make it my wallpaper to make my daily reference and devotion to the singular image more accessible. If it's proven any single anon has read even 20 books in an image containing more than 30 books as a result of the image alone i will remove my pinky finger.

If you want to learn a thing, read a book on the thing. Place was basically modeled after Harold Bloom, till the fascies invaded.
Pick and choose as you go. Enjoy while you learn. A good book changes you, but so can bad books.
