>In headline after headline this year, American book publishers have appeared to be fighting back against generative AI, from suing Google for copyright infringement to canceling books by authors suspected of using LLMs.
>But behind the scenes, at least three of the Big Five US book publishers—HarperCollins, Simon & Schuster, and Hachette—have been quietly incorporating AI tools into their publishing processes without public disclosures or author consent.
>According to interviews with more than two dozen workers, all of whom spoke under the condition of anonymity to avoid jeopardizing their employment, publishers are now using LLMs like Claude and ChatGPT to email literary agents, write publicity and back-cover copy, design cover art, and generate marketing materials, often at the direction of their executives.
>At the same time, multiple editorial staffers say the widely publicized cases of authors accused of using LLMs to help write their books—like Hachette's horror novel Shy Girl or Macmillan's crime thriller Call Me, I'll Hide the Body—are just the tip of the iceberg. "Every single imprint has a story of someone very esteemed who had a book canceled because of blatant AI use" without ever making the news, one editor says.
Feels like we’re losing the battle against AI.

The downfall of new literature. Probably we should be able to use and reuse whatever was around before AI rise.

Human-made art will be like a gourmet-brand thing, it will have it's own seal of quality, only the greatest of artists will survive in the coming era. The rest, the mediocrities, the ones making "art" for the masses will be replaced entirely by AI.
>>
>>25594473
This, this is all a good thing if you're actually a good writer and aren't a retard.
>>
>>25594473
Yeah, but how would you make sure you aren’t being lied about human-made quality?
>>
>Staff are revolting
I'm sure

There should be a government department filled with AI specialists to make sure something isn't made with AI, then they'll give that work a seal of approval that guarantees it's human made. The artist should also provide proof if possible in order to make things clear (such as always filming himself in the process of his creation or something like that).

Completely disagree. All the worst tendancies of the modern art/lit worlds will kick into overdrive. If AI can create art then the ONLY thing that will matter is a person's "lived experience." Idpol will be more important than ever. The people that will survive are nepo baby artists that strike the right identify combos who will be anointed by the literati as "Great Artists" regardless of the quality of their art. Eventually they will begin to argue that the quality of the art doesn't even matter, since AI can create good stuff anyway, and what matters is that the art was made by a human at all. People will continue to twists themselves into knots desperately trying to come up with something fresh, new, and novel that AI can't do, until we're literally picking up our shit with our bare hands and flinging at the walls, and they'll say it's great art because AI can't shit itself.
>>
>>25595612
Once AI (female) can shit itself, I will no longer have the time or need for art anyway.
>>
AI was not responsible for ruining modern art. Even before LLMs, corporations ruined art by hiring women and DEIs.

The way forward for art is through the destruction or avoidance of the corporate structure.
>>
>>25594473
It's not really like that, AI is just going to be like steroid use in football. Published writers will all be using it and they just won't admit it and publishers won't ask. They know people won't buy a book that admits to being written by AI so they'll still want to put a human's name and identity on it.
>>
>>25594459
>quietly
Wired is also using LLM lmao
>>
>>25595842
Those people who wanted to sell products for money can move to AI, while those who actually wanted to create art will continue to do so.

And there are ways of "proving" you didn't use an LLM, if it ever comes to that there will be a way to verify it.

The goal is to dismantle European nations. To sell off businesses, land, etc. to enemy nations (any non-European).
They want to flood the internet with products, channels, etc. of the enemy, in order to drain European nations of their wealth(strength).
Things will get worse, as now the enemy can use AI to create books, games, music, etc. and flood the internet and ALL marketplaces with it.
We still win in the end, since we have souls, and will have eternal peace in Heaven, whereas demons will continue to burn in the hell they made for themselves. This world is very temporary.

The joke (chutzpah) is that the books they publish are AI generated too lol.

ai for a novel? possibly
ai for any sort of substantive critical works?
naw, dont think so
>>
>>25594459
This may lead to a deconstruction of the creativity aspect of human identity. Art won't be pursued in order to impress other people but strictly for personal satisfaction. It's kinda like how when you draw smut you get horny and goon

AI with proofreading is undetectable

Nothing, you're right. Before AI, art was all porn and fanart so it's not like we were living in a creative era. Probably the only consolation is that AI didn't really ruin anything but simply made the ongoing situation worse.
The only people who could make it anywhere were always rich kids with far more resources than anyone else, and that will never change. The only people who got axed were the somewhat determined wannabes with a degree of talent or discipline but I'm not sure if that's a bad thing. I wish someone had dispelled my delusions that hard work and staying true to yourself would make something happen much earlier. I could've worked on making more addictive gacha games for preschoolers and other things to fuck society in the ass and make money, which given the quality of the average normalnigger is objectively the right thing to do.
