I want to study classical studies (Greek and Latin philology) but I work so I have no time to study ancient Greek (we used to study Latin in my high school).
So I am thinking to dive into medieval history, I think I can manage medieval Latin, middle ages French and German.

I am thinking about the sources, I don't only want to study books written by others. Philology is a powerful tool for history, I wanna be a philologist.

I mean you can do that, but mind you that despite the memes medieval latin can get very baroque(Saxo is infamous for that) and the sources themselves are very spread out. It's probably best for you to find some kind if medieval tertiary source books like some work or Bloch but also many others and then look at their bibliographies.
