The cope is unreal. You spend 6 hours a day on your ass looking at someone else's writing and call it a hobby. Hobbies produce something. Hobbies build skills. You're sitting in your room consuming someone else's thoughts and acting like it's the same as learning an instrument or building furniture. It's not.

Every adult reader I know is behind in life. Behind on rent. Behind on career. Behind on relationships. Literature isn't the escape it's the reason. You're not unwinding you're avoiding. There's a difference between relaxing and disappearing.

If you read books only two hours a day, within 5 years that would be 3650 hours. With only 3650 hours think of all the things you could do.
>Become a classically trained musician
>Achieve fluency in 2-3 new languages
>Become proficient in a video game of your choice and compete for prize money
>Learn multiple programming languages
>Have a lucrative streaming career
>Become a skilled athlete, or a marathon runner (exercise also greatly improves brain size and function, unlike vidya)
>Earn a bachelor's or masters degree
>Learn Chess to a high ELO and compete in local clubs
>Do anything productive, creative, or fun that isn't staring a hole in a paper

Excessive reading makes you retarded and is a massive time sink, especially if you consume it with the goal of becoming more cultured. Posting on /lit/ isn't much better. You guys will call me a fag, but you know I'm right

And the "it's my passion" excuse is the loudest cope of all. Nobody says "I'm passionate about watching Netflix" but litfags think calling it passion makes it noble. You're not passionate. You're addicted. You're choosing a being a passive observer over your own life and calling it a hobby so you don't have to look at what you're running from.

Reading is literally conditioning you into becoming a cuck

I noticed all the chatGPT-isms in your post. It's no wonder that you're bitter over people who read.

I was wondering if he just accidently mixed his /v/ bait with his /lit/ bait.

>It's no wonder that you're bitter over people who read.
Why would anyone be bitter over you wasting your time?
>>
>>25596468
That's something you ask yourself.

If I wanted to be lectured about the need to "get on that grind dawg" or not chasing after credentialism and professional titles, I'd go watch an Andrew Tate video or take a look at Samir Patel’s LinkedIn profile.

You don't fit in here.

You need 10,000 hours to be skilled at any hobby.

I wish it were possible to identify, torture, rape and kill AI posters remotely

GOOD OLD TRADITIONAL WIFE-SATISFYING SOLUTION TO THIS VIDYA DISS:

STAND WHILE PLAYING YOUR VIDYA
THEN YOU'RE SUDDENLY A VIDYA STUDENT
AND THEN YOU MAKE MORE BUCKS FROM STUDYING YOUR VIDYA THAN ROBOCOMPLAINERS MAKE FROM GENERATING COMPLAINTS
AS 50 CENT SAID: "JUST BE YOU! BECAUSE IF YÓÚ'RE YOU, WHO CAN BE YOU BÚT YOU?"
>>

NICE! +100 KOSHER BUCKS! FINALLY! A PLACE WHERE MY BUSINESS IS APPRECIATED! CAN I BUY BIRD FEED AND FEED THE BIRDS WITH ALL OF IT?

What a reach lmao. 10,000 hours minimum, and even then there’s very little money in it. The majority of the rest of your alternatives are straight up retarded, like e-sports? Streaming? Really nigga

>You're addicted
