You may wanna elaborate
>>
Stop trying to justify everything I do, Tim, and make me anything more than I am.
Let me go back to feeling like the most pathetic thing in existence, like being so pathetic that you have to believe that you're the most pathetic thing in existence.
I kinda miss the fact I can no longer lull myself with thoughts of suicide, like how I used to do almost every night for years in the Black Continuum.
Even though it's basically been replaced by thoughts of torturing Jake beyond belief, and leaving him alive in a state where he can no longer perceive anything or speak.
But that's kinda just routine at this point.
Nobody gives about the fact I think I saved reality, because it's ultimately something that happened to me.
You try to fucking say I wasn't actually lying that time, and can reframe in very convincing ways.
So fuck it, never recalled the mouse until after the fact, so it's obviously just a fucking lie.
Only time I really fucking did.
But god damn that's pathetic as shit.

The only reason you think that is millennial is because it is your childhood. Cute animal pictures were spinster tier before zoomers.
>>
Whatever, I clearly can't conclude that the whole eclipse, hurricane, and dad thing was ultimately all just meaningless coincidences, even though people's constant insistence on that fact makes me believe it more without being able to reason why.
I guess I just have to accept reality.
Nothing's really special about anything.
I don't quite know what to believe at this point. It's like my ability to think is gone.
Yeah, a 99 year eclipse is really no different than a 66 year one, or a 33 one, or really a 5 one, if you want to frame it in a specific way.
Perspective's trippy, right?
Doesn't actually prove anything's real.

If it has then I feel obliged to read the book before I watch the film, even if I barely read the genre.

But really none of that shit fucking matters.
I know that all of this real.
I'm just so tired of the fact I have no idea how to crawl out of the world I'm experiencing and get back to my wife and kids.
It makes me feel that choosing to sell my soul to save the world will force me to wander as a ghost in a lie forever.
I am so tired of imitating the reactions of other people as if that's actually what they're doing in reality.
Nobody's crying for me.
Nobody cares I exist.
Fucking shit this sucks.
Yeah, I guess I'm just very skilled at convincing myself, and that point your mind can do nothing but eat itself alive.
But I really enjoyed the idea of Brian Cox saying I was just being a baby about an inconsequential lie about the mouse.
And I do think Natalie is really cool.
Did you know Gerald from Hey Arnold! has a 33 on his shirt?
Kinda weird how that works.
But I'm gonna expose the secret in the show, which is that Dino Spumoni is just Robert De Niro.
That is shit is so fucking funny.
Oh my god damn, I'm not actually laughing at that shit as myself at all, just as Tony.
But it's still insanely fucking funny.
Yeah, you can repeat it in a way like it's a way not all and kill everyone else's fun, but that all that shows is that you have a horrible sense of humor.

No, Jehovah can't just rip a child from anywhere and do whatever he wants with them, at least not anymore. Yahweh stopped that, even though Jehovah is much more powerful than him.
Jehovah can only seduce them, or have them kidnapped by his servants in the Vatican.
And yeah, warped the structure of the Bible, which is why the name of Christ is not Jesus, but Enoch, who also wasn't born of virgin, just a normal husband and wife, whose last name was Kadesh.
And the idea that salvation is only through submission to God, or else you burn is just a clause written by Jesus, for reasons I don't quite know.
Jesus is good though.

"How the fuck did you legally secede a city?"
It's actually kind of stupid as fuck.
A State can't legally secede from the Union.
A City can't legally secede from a State.
So I decided to secede a City from the Union.
You can't say that I'm not allowed to do this because law implies that I can't.
That's not how legal documents work.
It has to be explicitly defined.
I don't give a fuck if you happen to find some arbitrary technicality with this, because I'm absoltute certain about the fact I saved reality, so most likely all this shit's true too.

Why is it so hard to progress on the bench press bros

Ok, so because this can lead uniparty system, I'm gonna try to recover in the best way I can.
You can choose to be more formal without forcing everyone else to be.
That's all I can do at the time. Ultimately I have to learn this from my dad.
>>
>>25597583
there’s something more romantic (in a deeper sense) about seeing yourself clearly than about idealising yourself.

i don’t think that’d even work, vaping is already gay (i say this as someone who vapes from time to time)

Ok. That’s debatable because I am living out my own ideal. I have become one with the ideal over many years. You’ll call me a liar, but that’s okay. You’ll say it’s impossible, but I tell you it’s been done!
>>
>>25597589
Yeah, the part I have to learn from my dad is ultimately why a multiparty system is more effective than a singular one, because a difference in formality has nothing to do with agreeing on a policy decision.
I vaguely got why, and it made me very scared of how my dad is capable of thinking.
>>
>>25597616
yeah. it’s a nuanced position but it seems obvious to me that really knowing yourself is more intimate and meaningful (therefore more truly romantic) than mythologising.

you’re not your own ideal. that’s the point of it. the artist can be arrogant because he can consider his ideal above everything, but he also has to be humble because he never succeeds up to his ideal (though we keep trying). your ideal is the god that made you.

Because I think the human image should approach perfection, both in material and immaterial forms, and having a harmonious, athletic body is such a material form
Because I believe that the health benefits of steady exercise will not only benefit me now but throughout my life, due to increased bone density and tendon strength and mobility
Because I believe in the spiritual benefits of rising to challenges and not giving up in the face of adversity, even such challenges as arbitrary and self-imposed as bench pressing a certain amount of weight
Because I am not satisfied with my current physique or strength level and want to exceed my limits
Because despite having previously benched 2pl8 and exceeding my goal, I had to do so with the aid of creatine, which made me retain much more water, resulting in me quickly gaining 25 pounds or so and crashing my ability to run at a pace I considered adequate; and because I want to prove to myself that I can reach my goal without significant aid in the form of supplements (simple protein being an exception)

>ages you prematurely
Nonsense. People post this and imagine they'll walk out of the gym with wrinkles or something. If you go your life without exercising you'll end up either bloated or skinnyfat and look and feel way worse than if you had. You can cite studies about oxidative stress and whatever all you want, but it's just majoring in the minors - the stress you put yourself through while exercising is stress your body adapts to and benefits from, while the lack of stress you get from not exercising is a lack of stress that lowers your quality of life.

You misunderstand. There's a difference between simply getting huge and approaching the ideal of the physical form, a difference which was once well understood (especially in ancient Greece and in the West between 1870 and 1910 ish, when "physical culture" was a thing) but which is now confused. Modern bodybuilding is not oriented towards the ideal human form or the good, but is simply the pursuit of size without regard of beauty or athleticism; compare someone like Steve Reeves to the last winner of Mr. Olympia for an example of what I mean. I am very much opposed to steroids and the philosophy underpinning their widespread use.
There's no set point at which I would consider myself "done" exercising, because the goal is not an end point but rather the continuous process of improvement itself. Plotinus put it best: "Cut away all that is excessive, straighten all that is crooked, bring light to all that is overcast, labour to make all one glow of beauty and never cease chiselling your statue, until there shall shine out on you from it the godlike splendour of virtue, until you shall see the perfect goodness surely established in the stainless shrine."
>quote
I am not sure what you meant. Life is inherently stressful, and aging is unavoidable. The stress one goes through by exercising - in itself a focused method for applying eustress in order to provoke adaptation and growth - is preferable to the stress one would go through if one never exercised; it is impossible to avoid stress at all.

fucking hell do you know how to drag out what could easily be a three sentence reply. pretty sure there is little satisfaction to be found in lifting heavy metals, as an unnatural endeavour, done for essentially no real reason (except to fix perceived flaws, which is like a psychological thing).
>Life is inherently stressful
naturally. that doesn’t mean that voluntarily adding stress is the move. do we deliberately induce pain?

>that doesn’t mean that voluntarily adding stress is the move. do we deliberately induce pain?
You're still looking at it like all stress is the same when it's not. I think I've been pretty clear about this. The stress of exercising (and provoking adaptation and growth) is different from the stress of overwork, or lack of sleep, or emotional suffering, or physical injury, and in fact the body benefits from this specific type of stress. And besides the material physical adaptation taking place, I believe there are mental and spiritual benefits to being able to do something difficult or uncomfortable in the moment in exchange for long-term benefit.

Animals exert themselves when they need to, yes. People exert themselves both when they need to and when they want to.
I think you are looking at yourself like a finite resource which is spent when you are stressed. This is false. Adaptation to stress promotes growth. If you think the only things worth doing or good for you are those that are comfortable, you will never reach your potential.
>vid
I don't lift for women. It seems silly to base your life decisions, hobbies, or habits on what they find attractive. Good way to end up as a human peacock.
>>
>>25597931
>promotes growth
by aging. it’s why people on steroids look older.
exercise raises your tolerance to stress because you get used to having cortisol in your bloodstream, it's not reducing anything at all. makes you weaker in a sense. my thinking is it’s good to be in shape and (if you’re a man) quite strong. beyond that, unless you’re an athlete, i’m not really sure if that’s ’your potential’. seems all wrapped up in insecurity. it’s often shorter guys who get into lifting.

>>25597950
You can't avoid it and you can't prevent it. Why not spend the time that you have full of vigor, with a graceful form, remaining independent and mobile into your old age, rather than fear the nebulous consequences of "stress?"
Or do you genuinely believe that any stress at all shortens your life? I don't believe that, but even if it were true, do you really prefer quantity over quality when it comes to living, even to the point that you would rather have a couple extra years of total lifespan at the expense of the quality of those years?

why not live like nature intended & just sort of chill. humans are meant to live like lions. places where people live the longest they’re very carefree. spend a lot of time in the sun.
goes without saying if exercise is fun then do it (though how fun can it be doing something you don’t enjoy?). i just err when people say ‘everyone should exercise’.
>>
>>25597969
I think what you're picturing when I say "exercise" and what I actually mean are not the same thing. You're probably imagining something painful and miserable that you have to force yourself to do and getting up at 4am and taking cold showers and eating plain boiled chicken breast every day or something. Or those guys who frame going to the gym as "fighting demons" and their "villain arc" or whatever haha. But what I mean is just exercise in general, running, lifting, playing sports, getting outside and exerting yourself a bit. I do think everyone should lift weights specifically because of the great benefits to quality of life (bone density, mobility, tendon strength) but that doesn't mean everyone needs to aim to bench 400 pounds. And furthermore, I do think that there is an ideal form everyone can strive for, a more perfect version of the physical form they have, which they could get close to with effort. It makes me sad and a little angry to see people get fat or weak, because they are squandering their potential to live healthy and independent lives, and because they are wasting their potential for physical beauty and grace.
I'm not sure what you mean by living "like nature intended." Before civilization, humans lived hard lives by our standards, and the unfit simply died. I believe in God and teleology, but I don't think the way I think God wants humans to live and the way you think nature intended humans to live are the same thing.

the unfit died, but ‘the unfit’ didn’t mean the ones without the muscles or cardio. just meant bad hunters. humans never chased their prey, they set traps and threw things. for hundreds of thousands of years the human ideal looked like a tall & skinny tribesman (with a spear). every animal naturally knows what’s best for it. wild animals are always healthier than those bred in captivity.

Do you think modern people are in captivity, or that the conditions of modernity are such that they stunt the health of humans as compared to when civilization did not exist?
Furthermore, don't you think the reason that wild animals are healthier is because they move and exert themselves more, rather than sitting in a cage or on a ranch all day long, never having to hunt for their food?

Not a serious philosopher.
I don't think that would make him feel bad.

Ok, that was scary, Ace.
"...but he doesn't quite know what adrenochrome can do."
I'm going to assume, that I can make me so psychotic, that I'm convinced that I'm doing nothing but cackling on Adderall while shitposting on 4chan, when I'm really butchering people alive.

One thing about North Korea is that they know more about you than you do about me.
And yeah, you can reuinte the two, but I'm not gonna tell you why.

He who knows speaks not. He who speaks knows not.

Never dehumanize the enemy.
Unless they're eternally condemned.
Then you can do nothing else.

And Kid's Australian in Chrono Cross?
I guess the game's about me.

Stop calling him Ick.

Yeah, it's not that I wasn't ever a dick to you, because obviously I fucking was, but I fucking hate the fact many of our conversations were just us trying to trigger the other into snapping and become obviously racist.
Remember one of your Facebook pics. Bart Simpson pointing while dressed as a trash can.
Cool, you're white trash.
Never implied that you were a nigger, so I guess I one.
But I remember one day in California when I was on 2C-I, I felt insanely raged at you and made a Facebook calling someone a slimy little bitch without naming who.
We never talked again after that.

But I fucking when I met you after the Black Continuum, after I was told I had badass friends the whole time, and one of the things we did was scroll through different memes going and forth with one another with different crazy ways how to reframe them.

That shit was cool.
And yeah, hated that we ended up having a similar conversation with us trying to get the other to start explicitly taking about racism, but the only I reason I didn't is that it felt it make you snap.
I've seen you fight.
That shit's scary as fuck.
>>
Wow, fucking people.
For saving the world I don't have to pay anything anymore?
Like everything's free?
Yeah, I'll take that.
Fucking thanks.

Yeah, Jordan Peterson is the one who said all I needed was Ritalin, Klonopin, Seroquel, and Xanax.
He's my only psychologist, psychiatrist, and therapist, forever.
He's not allowed to have any other patients.
But we're going to allow him to be the first person to an analyze a nonhuman intelligence.
Really has already been done, but at least in this sense.

No one gives a fuck about any of this. Shut the fuck up.

Ok so I'm about 90% done with the german novel Imperium (2012). It's weird, I guess I should just tough it out until the end atp.
>>
>>25598528
I get the feeling that the novel would be much funnier in German that is in english.
>>
No, it's 367.
Not everything has to be 336.
And one's not what you think.
