This is a thread for those who want to dedicate their lives to the pursuit of knowledge. I've put together a curriculum covering philosophy, religion, literature, mathematics, physics, history, biology, neuroscience, and music. It consists of 100 mandatory books and is designed to take the average student several years to complete.

We'll study for 10~12 hours a day and use this thread to motivate one another, share insights, discuss what we've learned, and help each other along the way.

Of course, the target audience is wealthy NEETs who don't have to worry about work or other obligations and can devote their time entirely to the pursuit of knowledge. Here's how I divided the curriculum:

This isn't theory of knowledge. This is an undergraduate curriculum.
>>
>>25597681
Theory of Knowledge is the name I gave to my curriculum, which yes, is comprised mostly of undergraduate subjects, no one starts studying directly from graduate-level textbooks.
>>
>>25597699
You've not imparted disciplinarity or methodology. This is a really deficient "mediocre works" curriculum.
>>
lol.
>>
Why the fuck do you have to go through the entire Summa Theologica and Hegel to read Dostoyevsky??

Feynman's lectures don't have exercises which you presumably want given you've included standard textbooks for mathematics.

Landau and Lifshitz is generally superior and widely beloved while each volume is surprisingly short. That being said, they're above the average undergraduate level, so you're probably going to struggle. Best to pick a generic college intro to physics in that case.

>Feynman's lectures don't have exercises
But they do? Landau is way too advanced, it's a series for people who already know undergraduate physics. The Feynman Lectures are the perfect middle ground between Young & Freedman and Landau.

It's pointless to try reading Newton's Principia without first attempting The Conics of Apollonius or Pappus's Collection, given how frequently he cites results from them instead of laying out the proof himself.
>>
Go hang out on his, that's for humanities. Just because you can scrawl shit on a shingle while wanking doesn't make it lit. Just like philosophy.
>>
>>25597672
Add Bede.

It already basically exists. Britannica Great Books of the Western World. You can get the set off eBay for around 200-400 bucks.

Why would I do math?
That's what computers are for.
