why do mathematicians complain about the supposed incomprehensibility of Hegel when mathematics by far, more than any other field quite possibly ever, operates on the most abstract, completely detached from empirical experience/data/whatever jargon, which no one, unless they've had 4+ years of formal mathematical study, could ever hope to understand?Hegel's jargon by contrast is much more simple. you really only need to understand Kant, Fichte, Schelling as well as Aristotle and Spinoza, which is completely achievable in 6 months. even then you could skip them and just read a few books on Hegel to explain the terminology and background
>>25598883Because Mathematics is a philosophic discipline. Euclid's Theorems show that geometry and mathematics can (and in some sense must) be understood in terms of pure logic, because there are no straight lines or triangles or anything like that in nature. You can't actually empirically prove the Pythagorean Theorem, you can only approximate it, whereas you can prove it absolutely in terms of logic.Mathematics might be complex but it is extremely clean, and it makes everything else look blurry and ill-defined by comparison. High level mathematic theorems have the same immovable certainty behind them as the axiomatic assumptions of most philosophic systems that you have to take for granted to even start discussing the actual propositions.
>>25598895Hegel starts with no axiomsyour point doesn't really touch what I'm saying. mathematicians have no right to complain about jargon
mathematicians dont care about hegel
>>25598899I was speaking more generally, I don't know why they would single out Hegel, you also provided no examples. Is there some beef between Hegelians and Mathematicians of which I'm unaware?
>he-who? tf bro sayin?>brrrrr skibidi bap bap dop dop dop
>>25598912yes hegel thought mathematicians destroyed the essence of the triangle or some retarded bullshit
>>25598883It's the same with mathematics, depending on the axiomatic system you use. ZFC set theory isn't hard to comprehend (if you don't get into nitty gritty details nobody gives a shit about), and then most introductory to intermediate concepts in math are quite straightforward to formalize using set theory.
Who cares about maths AI does everything now
>>25598895Please, modern math is decoupled from physical geometric intuition of Greek, allowing numbers to exist independently of spatial dimensions. negative numbers, complex variables, and modern calculus would be insane for Euclid.
