A while back I was involved in one of those magical circles where they practice Chaos Magick, read Crowley, and such, and everyone one there was an absolute loser. Either stereotypical nerds, or junkies, or a combination of both. They even used to do rituals to get girlfriends.

Practicing stuff like that should be enough to get you a girl on its own, I don't know why you'd need a ritual for that. There's loads of girls who're into dark esotericism or what you want to call it. I'd go as far as to say that that interest is completely foidominated.

Why does everything keep going to shit with seemingly no salvation in sight? I know that humanity's historical narrative encompasses numerous periods of darkness, yet those eras lacked the contemporary afflictions we now endure. In antiquity, one was not burdened by microplastic in the balls, natural resources remained abundantly available without the specter of depletion. Wildlife populations flourished in their ecosystems rather than teetering on the precipice of extinction. Furthermore, our ancestors were spared the existential dread imposed by weapons of annihilation like nuclear weapons, artificial intelligence and biological agents capable of decimating civilization itself.

Just don't talk politics on a serious level. Through my general conduct and the way I dress it is easy for my friends to tell I am right-wing, although given my alternative nature they are sometimes mistaken into thinking I'm left-wing. Just take on the Bowie crypto-fascisit approach. Say what you believe in with ideologically extreme jokes mixed in to throw them off guard, and refuse to elaborate.

If some individual will treat me nicely, I'll treat them nicely. I don't care bro. I am not here to solve whole world's problems. I am going to eat my own bread, do what I do. At last the midwit has devolved into a mouthbreather. Look at him contort and squirm; he thinks his nihilism has meaningful. Completely ossified by stupidity, his metamorphis nearly complete, and he sits within his cocoon of hubris and vainglorious pride, moments from embracing the complete futility of ideals as a whole. A real man accepts the shackles of reality and ascends beyond them. If you want to party just do it inside of your mind.

Endorphins are addictive as anything. Exercise, cavorting, chocolate, coffee, coke, videogames, reading; everything that gives you pleasure is addicting. Cigarettes arent unique in this regard. That being said, the scent of a nice tobacco is genuinely awesome, and the nootropic effect is well documented, particularly in combination with other activities.

I started in the summer before Grade 11 when this big tiddy goth girl pressed herself against me during summer school, smelling like cigarettes, starbursts, and the weird vanilla cotton candy perfume that was popular at the time. I told her I didnt smoke, she punched me in the arm, looked incredulous, took a big drag of her smoke, kissed me hard, and blew the smoke in my mouth. One thing lead to another, now I just smoke occassionally in moderation, though I prefer cigars. The one thing smoking does that's hard to replace is it slows life down and gives you a moment of mindfulness. You're waiting for the bus or at the beach, take out a cigarette, and it gives you a task while the nicotine creates pleasant pathways with the world around you. Magical stuff, really.
>>
>>25605498
Gandalf's pipe looks cool. Your industrialized cigarette is anything but cool.

>>25605473
I started smoking because my dad was into cigars and pipe tobacco and it kind of rubbed off on me, I had a genuine appreciation for a good cigar or a nice pipe full of tobacco every once in a while for a long time, I enjoyed the taste etc. I more or less grew out of it, for whatever reason I don't have the gray matter wiring sufficient to getting genuinely addicted to tobacco so I've always been able to pick it up and drop it at a whim with zero reprocussions.

Once it started making breathing more difficult I dropped it and haven't touched it since.

How much do you need to smoke to actually get addicted? I smoked 5-10 cigarettes per day for few years until one day I realized how disgusting it tastes and stopped and had no craving ever since.
>>
>>25605380

>>
>>25605573
Entirely depends on the person. Some people never get truly addicted and can actually stop on a whim if they want to, while others get formication after just 30 minutes without nicotine. I've known both types in real life.

And at last it was complete. He has become entranced with his vicarious fetishes, and descended into a primal sort of grunting and squawking as an inversion of his ancestors. When a man cries, does he feel pain? This man has lobotomized himself, and feels nothing; he cries out of obligation and idoltry to what he wishes he was, but can never be. Furtive bastion of fortune's fair hand, your lamentations do not fall on deaf ears and your wretched plight is not your fault, but your state is as it always was, and now forever shall be: hella gay and retarded.

Cigarette addiction is overplayed. It's habitual rather than addictive. As >>25605517 puts it, there is a huge societal guilt cycle around smoking that makes quitting even more difficult. It's like papist levels of shame regression. In the West, at least.
I'm glad smoking is banned indoors but other than that just do you. If you like it, smoke, if you don't don't. But of course you should never ignore your body: if it's affecting your health in ways you can directly tell it's probably best to cut down.

‘quitting’ a thing sounds so horrible. such a sad thought. never again. i think the idea of ‘quitting’ probably makes the temptation 10x stronger. the way to do it is probably a ‘not now’ mindset. though i suppose that doesn’t come with the sense of righteousness.
also i don’t even know if quitting is worth it. just drink once or twice a week. only smoke on weekends. cocaine a few times a month. coffee when you’re in a cafe. you’re golden.
addictions are like debts. you don’t need to pay them off fully, you just need to service the loan. cover the interest.

Sadly it doesnt smell like her, just fabric softener. I tried it on once and felt no closer to her. At least I've been able to see she goes to bed early and has no visitors. What a femcel

Idk what it is with more retarded generations, but you can google anything ever. The entire world at your fingertips.

You could just google “Am I a retard that doesn’t understand the implications and consequences of my actions” and you’ll get an entire thesis on why you’re a retard and what you’re doing is retard.

No what you’re doing is entirely fucking evil and they rightfully put you behind bars for this. To future Time-Eaters - Once again I speak to you clearly
Once upon a time there in ancient Central America before time even began, there were wild Gods who held animal form. Brightest amongst them was Quetzal, the luminous winged serpent, and there his twin, Xolotl, the black dog of death. In infinity the two and the other deities feasted on the silence of the world, yet the wise amongst them knew there must be a beginning. And so, Quetzal dealed to set the stars in motion, to begin 'time'. Thus is dealt - the deities must pay their immortal time begin time itself, so they might have a world over which to live. Each God submits immortality, but Xollotl. The shapeshifter that is death transforms into smaller and smaller beings as his brothers chase him, he turns to escape to the canopies, he turns to escape to the cliffs, and in turn he is left alone in a small pond, sickly and hiding in the smallest form in any God's imagination, thin skinned and unable to survive atmosphere or even basic touch. So born is the Axolotl, diminutive figure of the death dog, membrane fish relegated to such rare puddle. And what of our death-God? Routed. Unable to escape the puddle, his brothers arrive. By the thin blade of judgement his time is taken from him and paid to the universe so it may begin, all that remains of him left in the pool. So speak the Yucatan - All things must be paid, no God or Reality is exempt. So sayeth Quetzal, our Life-Giver.

For a long, long stretch of 2014, my dick didn't work.

It didn't emit semen. I would get hard, I would rise to the level of sexual climax, but semen wouldn't come. I'd have dry pumps over and over.

This freaked me the fuck out, as I'd imagine it's natural to feel in such a situation if you're a man. I became obsessed with my penis actually working. I started to masturbate constantly just in the hope that something would come out.

Well, it did. I began to ejaculate every time. But I'd already developed a habit of masturbation on a weekly, even daily basis, and this was not easy to stop. There's a degree to which I'd become addicted to masturbation, and needed to jerk off multiple times a week, just to satisfy the habit I'd built up.

And what I'll say in all this is that God's been a bit of a motherfucker to me here. I'm basically addicted to jerking off at this point, but it all came about as a result of my penis freakishly shutting down twelve years ago, and me being afraid that there was something unnatural happening as as result. Insofar as I have a sinful habit, it's a result of something frightening happening to me.

Oh, but this is the same period of time in which I got bit on the back by a demon, so I guess it all runs together.

Forget dating a bipolar woman, even befriending one is a fucking headache. This woman who talks to me flip flops between emotionally needy to being cold and dismissive and then to being antsy about being friends.

She's never had a male friend, and I'm not looking for a partner whatsoever so I was whatever about it when she said she doesn't want to date because neither did I. I have a lot of female friends anyway so I was already used to being friends with women. But then a few weeks into our 'friendship' she suddenly starts panicking about the future. Like, what if either one of us develops feeling for each other, how all her 'guy friends' had ulterior motives of dating or fucking her when they got to know her, etc. I told her if she's gonna be so fatalistic about friendship, then we don't have to meet that often, let alone talk often. Now she's constantly texting me and asking to meet up almost every day of the week.

I know I won't date her but I'm already getting what seems like the frustrations of being in a relationship despite not being in one.

you don’t say? honestly though i doubt the truth of this truism. there’s a poem by robert graves which says a neglected child has a chance to be a really great man (parents ‘too short-handed to interfere’ with the genius you’re naturally born with). if you look through history our great figures more often had complicated parental relationships rather than fathers who ruffled their hair and played catch.
>>
>>25607224
>great figures more often had complicated parental relationships

I'm sure they did. Having an imperfect father, though, is not the same as having an absent father.
Great men of history are also exceptional cases, not sure we can derive a general rule from their example.
>>
>>25607213
I am that person. Not you though, but your female friend-or-whatever. Being raised in rather conservative environment I (probably subconsciously) knew that I cannot allow a relationship progress past the certain point, so I would keep it stunted so that I can milk the guy for the attention as long as it is possible. What advice would you give to me? GTFO? Enroll in therapy?
>>
>>25607233
i’m not making a general rule it was your statement that was the generalisation.
if we’re saying it makes it more difficult on average then yeah that’s empirical, if we’re saying it necessarily makes life harder, a single counterexample disproves it.
>>
>>25607224
> a neglected child has a chance to be a really great man
Rousseau was the total opposite of neglected but he still grew up to be a great, profoundly alienated, lost, and unique person. It probably has more to do with, "What stimulates your most intense emotions from ages 0 to 8?" and "How do these emotions get mapped out onto reality once they're stimulated?"

They typically have some weird childhood. So many men in that era were raised on the Latins and had their deepest emotions stimulated by Ovid before the age of 10, and grew up in disappointment to see a Europe mostly devoid of life, of spontaneity, of virtues, of meaning, and it turned them nervous or bitter
>>
>>25607239
If you want to be friends, you have to learn to have healthy boundary between you two. Don't panic if the guy doesn't respond back within minutes or even hours. I don't know how comfortable you are with hanging out one on one with a guy, unless your intention is to date, you don't have to meet everyday too. Let alone every week, if you both have busy lives.
And for the love of god, don't be too lovely dovely. Guys can get the wrong message. You don't have to send good morning texts and shit. This woman kept egging me to hang out and do something, and I jokingly said 'sounds like you want to go on a date' and she replied with a "yes <3<3". She then panicked about me being interested in her after we hung out the night after.

I'd say go to therapy but also learn to let go about your limitation of relationships.

montaigne also came to mind as i was writing it. that said his father did, after an initial period of total devotion, sort of lose heart with his son when his incredible education wasn’t having the desired effects.
what stimulates vs how does it map out sounds a bit flat to me somehow. childhood is what makes you, but i think it’s not the ‘intense’ emotions but something more ordinary. it’s weird what things end up becoming a twinge in your heart. playing outside in the rain, hearing your parents talk downstairs while you lie in bed, when i was 7 i let go of a balloon i had. i remember watching it float far above the estate, up and up, wind nudging it east as the afternoon sky deepened into evening.
>>
>>25607259
>but i think it’s not the ‘intense’ emotions but something more ordinary.
> it’s weird what things end up becoming a twinge in your heart.
That is a theme in goethe's works.

Actually, you wanna know a weird thought I had? Earlier this year, I had this thought that if you go a day without seriously thinking or introspecting much, then it puts you in a state of mind that is much closer to how a child experiences the world. Like just take a walk outside and experience all the random phenomena, the sun, the grass, the chirping of the birds, without trying to judge or ascribe any particular meaning to it.

I thought that if you repeat this every day for like 10 years, you'd basically have a second childhood and be a very different person. Crazy thought but yeah

Although it does lose some colour and tone from the original.
He isn't as vulgar in his vocabulary (there's no swearing), the face is not horrible but instead "perhaps as if belonging to an ugly woman"; the breasts, while implied to be large and heavy, are described as pendulous (literally "appese" - hanging off).

Interesting the choice of "bazongas", I think it's a good translation of the word "sizze" he used.

Yeah it really works too. Nice verses btw

Goethe writes about childhood the way it actually is, which is pretty cool. Most people can only view it from an adult perspective, they take this forced tone of nostalgia or fondness like all of childhood is just this comfy eternal fall day. Childhood is a lot of things. Like sitting in a car for 20 minutes in pure silence while it's raining as you wait for your mom to get back from the store, but those 20 minutes are the longest 20 minutes you'll ever experience in this lifetime

>Don't panic if the guy doesn't respond back within minutes or even hours.
Quite opposite, I’m not sure why, but I somehow put myself under obligation to talk to them on somewhat regular basis for not to upset them with my neglect or something. I’m not sure what would be a healthy conduct here.

So you think you're gonna be walking on eggshells if you don't respond to them on time?

Here’s a preamble. Nearly ten years ago I met this person on an anonymous board, not 4chin, not even western based. It was semi-dead board where it was mostly them, their ex-ish partner I guess and me. They somehow tried to conduct it as if they fancied me or something, which is ridiculous - we never met in person, they did not know what I looked like, they basically invented a character in their head to sprinkle it with whatever posts I made for the flavor - and that’s said generously, maybe they didn’t feel any romantic about me at all. Anyways they insisted on me posting at least daily, and if I didn’t they would throw a tantrum all over the board, tell how they cried so much and other stuff. I felt kinda obligated to show up. I don’t know how this story is related, but probably it demonstrates me being anon pleaser I guess.

Going back to the modern times, I just feel like if I don’t show up often enough they will move on with their life. You know, we aren’t really bounded with any kind of obligation, the connection will dissipate and that would be it, so I kinda feel a need to cultivate it just in case.

The posts are generally less eloquent, insightful, or original.

I'll probably bite the bullet at some point and hire a hooker, since they're legal in my country.

there’s a radio ad i keep hearing about treating dementia that uses the line ‘a lifetime of memories slowly erased’, which to me is too heavy for daylight airtime. never considered it but it’s pretty awful isn’t it?
then again i guess some people would pay top dollar for that sort of thing.

sure, nothing wrong with that, people that shame people for hiring hookers are retards or incels themselves
