Plato was gay.

What was Plato's thoughts on Deluezian schizoanalysis? I'd also love to know his thoughts on Marx's critique of Capitalism.

Wait, what? Plato didn't even know what capitalism was? Ah shucks.

I don’t like Plato.
>>

He's a pedo? He always seemed too high inhibition to lust and chase after extremely young women
>>

Sorry, but Platonism is nonsense. It literally does not mean anything. Read Carnap's 1950 paper, or Amie Thomasson's modern work on neo-Carnapianism. Existence questions ("Do numbers / colours / properties / objects / etc. exist?) are either straightforward or meaningless.

Why was Euthyphron portrayed as a wicked man for accusing his father of murder, when in Gorgias Socrates comes to the conclusion that a just punishment is the way to heal one’s soul, and therefore we should want just punishment to fall upon everyone who commits crime, especially ourselves and our closest people?

Umm he wasn’t? You fucking idiot
>>
>>25627482
Of course he was, Socrates doesn’t exactly hide his shock and Euthiphron’s characterisation is quite clear.
>>
>>25627571
I was going to write a whole essay but if you really think that Socrates genuinely believes that prosecuting one’s own parents is some specific form of wrongdoing then it’s not even worth debating you. The fact that that is a common opinion people hold is why it is brought up not Socrates personal belief.

What if I told you Hegel were an Eastern Philosopher because Germans are steppe people?

I don't see Euthyphro as being portrayed as wicked, only as a fool. The substantive difference between what Euthyphro intends to do and what Socrates says in the Gorgias is that the soul never comes into it for Euthyphro (in fact, the word "soul" never appears in the Euthyphro). Euthyphro's problem is grounded in how he takes the poets and their myths as preeminent authorities, he's only prosecuting his father for two reasons: he's afraid of miasma, and Zeus punished his own father, therefore prosecuting his father is just. He's not concerned about "correcting" his father or guiding his soul to a better condition (and we should remember that in the Gorgias, Socrates doesn't admit of all punishments, but only those that would improve the soul), and his grounds are irrational and arbitrary. So, not wicked, but mistaken and silly, but also potentially dangerous for acting on such mistaken and silly whims.

what you meant to say is girls,an extremely young women would be 18-20,younger than that its not a women yet.

Nigga the republic starts off by going AT LENGTH to define what Perfevt Justicr entails.
It isn't "the perfect nation" because the underlying unspoken obvious is that perfect justice does not exist. NOTHING he details is possible in reality. It's a thought experiment. A hypothetical.
FUCK YOU for making me explain this.
>>
>>25629318
That entire thought process is wholly encompassed in the single word "utopia." So I don't see why I should read three hundred pages of some old fat pedo fantasizing about a perfect city when I can just look at a single word that sets all of that off in my own mind. They say a picture is worth a thousand words? No. A word is worth a thousand words.
>>
>>25629318
how does splitting a city up into autistically hyper specific measurements of land entail perfect justice, exactly? Also what in my post set you off, lil' monkey?
>>
>>25629318
I don't think the teaching of the Republic is that perfect Justice "doesn't exist," but that perfect civic Justice is deeply implausible, and one has to settle for ordering one's own soul justly. To the extent that the city in speech is not intended to be a real practicably actionable notion, and to the extent that the Justice of the city turns out to be a phantom of the true Justice of the soul, I would otherwise agree with you, but not without those qualifications.
>>
>>25629330
How about you fucking read it and understand that justice is defined as "all people doing exactly their role and no more or less" and the thought experiment is about constructing a city based on that principle. It is inherently unthinkable and all things detailed in the republic are extreme ends to what can be feasible under justice.
>>25629348
Exactly. I just get fed up hearing idiots claim it's supposed to be what we should strive toward instead of explaining what justicd can give us.
>>
>>25631049
I have read it but
>it's unthinkable to have land be split up into hyper specific measurements, only perfect justice could achieve this and perfect justice is impossible!
...huh?
>>
>>25621951
>>25629330
>>25631340
Nta, but I'd be curious where you're getting this from in the Republic; isn't this the Laws where distribution is discussed concretely? The Republic, I thought, just alludes to distribution without further elaboration, and in fact says the two upper classes don't get any allotted to them because they're not allowed to own anything.
>>
>>25631501
>>25631340
Nvm, you were probably talking about the Laws in the first place, and the other anon thought you were talking about the Republic.
