A cute story, but somewhat puerile.

Finally finished, would not recommend - not much plot.

AI is already mining all of the internet including this sentence I'm typing.
Also every single thread on this board, the archives, everything.
If you don't want your data to be mined, leave the internet.

What? Don't tell you've never read the dictionary. Can you really call yourself an English speaker if you have not?

>Old favorite of mine. What did you think?
I really enjoyed the horror stories. It's surprising that it was written in the 1890s because the concepts feel so ahead of their time. I was surprised as the stories started shifting from horror to romance. Never thought I'd be the type to enjoy a romance story but they were written well enough and even the ones with non-horror elements were cute enough

Didn't like Terms as much as I thought I would. Emma's death just felt tacked on even though it felt like it's one of those things that just happens in life. It's the weakest of the Houston series to me so far.

>Venus and Aphrodite
Very short breezy book. I was hoping for something like her book on the history of Helen of Troy, and it kind of did that but it was so brief and general that you are left feeling kind of cheated. You would think there would be more to say about Venus/Aphrodite/Astarte vs Helen, but apparently not.
>The Lost Plays
Kind of blame myself for this, but I assumed this would be a collection of fragments of lost plays and while there are lost fragments in the back it is mostly trying to parse the fragments for each author we know of to try and get a clue of who they were how they wrote. There is so little information that it mostly boils down to, this compendium of authors lists this guy as having existed, but we can't really trust the compendium. We do have mention of him of Aristophanes but mostly he is taking the piss. So all we know is he like every single Greek playwright wrote plays about the same cadre of myths that Sophocles/Euripides/Aeschylus wrote about.
>The Major Works
Some good some bad. I kind prefer Wordsworth though funny that they both wrote autobiographies about themselves though Wordsworths was worse to get through since it was in such a dull verse.

All I remember from Storm of Steel is when he went to relieve someone of their post and it was just a muddy crater with a corpse that laid down in for several days listening to the artillery until someone else showed up to do the same. And also the manic red mist while they storms the trenches. Absolute madmen

I have a strong picture of the corpse of that enormous Indian. In my mind he’s still wielding his sabre, but I think I’m confusing two things. I read the whole thing in a Waterstones, standing up next to the shelf, while procrastinating university work.
