Is Ford Maddox Ford even worth reading? Here he is getting brutally mogged by the S-tier of the 20th century. No one ever talks about him anymore.
>>
yes he is. start w/the good soldier and then, if u liked it, read parade's end. they are masterworks and very intelligently written with impressive tecnique. he is very important as he started/helped many peoples careers. he also wrote a few book in collab w/joseph conrad (3 i think).
if u want to read the good soldier i rec the world oxford classic edition as it provides interesting extra material.

I will never understand these threads.
>is [classic author] worth reading?
Yes you fucking mongoloid, that's why they're classic. What are you doing with your time that is so precious that you have to ask this?

why so angry? many "classics" aren't worth my time. Some were very popular at the time and aged terribly, like your mom

Hemingway was very vocal about not respecting Ford artistically and finding him physically repulsive.

>I had always avoided looking at Ford when I could and I always held my breath when I was near him in a closed room.

Ford was always a supporter and even admirer of Hemingway, however.

>I helped Joseph Conrad, I helped Hemingway. I helped a dozen, a score of writers, and many of them have beaten me. I'm now an old man and I'll die without making a name like Hemingway.

This was said to a journalist, who noted in the reported account as that after Ford finished saying the above words he broke down sobbing.
