28Houellebecq - The Elementary ParticlesThis is shittier Camus where the author has an axe to grind against the sexual revolution and is barely attempting to construct a narrative so he can grind it. 6/10.

33All About LoveIt's fine I guess. Was recommended to me by an ex. Can't really get with the spirituality stuff but I suppose there are some good bits in here. First time reading any bell hooks, is she a meme or does she have better works?
>>2562785728Gravity's Rainbow. My second read of it.It's so fucking awesome. I appreciate it way more this time. On my first time I was frustrated by the experience because it was confusing and I was, dare I say, filtered, but now that I have all the information, can see where everything fits together, I can really enjoy the ride and admire Pynchon's prose. I really admire the way the book is like the V2 rocket itself, reversing cause and effect, coming in first and then announcing what's happening. There are so many instances of foreshadowing and prolepsis that you only find out about on a second read, it's a real kaleidoscopic experience. And I love the way Pynchon portrays the themes of the book. He writes about corporatism as if it were a Lovecraftian horror, too big to be comprehended from inside of it, something that has engulfed the entire word and snuck into all aspects of life. The wacky poetic language he uses comes off as like American chuunibyou and I love it.
