>>25631002He was doing too much. Notice the parallels of Polyphemus and Nobody, and his treatment of strangers to other's (and strangers' to host in case of the suitors)
Shouldn't have locked them in your rancid shithole cave, simple as. Also if you weren't a subhuman freak and had two eyes you wouldn't be fully blind. Sucks to suck I guess. Respect Xenia and respect the gods, little bitch.
I wonder if Polyphemus’ being a cyclops had something to do with him being unable to recognise the Nobody pun, unable, so to speak, to see both sides of the pun. The same goes for the other the other cyclopes. Also the other cyclopes, to my knowledge, thought Polyphemus’ cry was his signalling his being afflicted by a disease (which comes from ‘no one’), hence they couldn’t help.
>>25631096True. The novel is about hospitality customs and how to make amends for them - Odysseus (wiles) versus Antinous (literally Anti-nous, anti-brains). By seeking wisdom/ Athena, Odysseus is saved from the troubles he himself created while Antinous and the suitors all die horrific deaths.
>>25631002>conveniently leaves out the part where hhe boasted thst he doesn't need to care about hospitality because he's mightier than the gods so has nothing to fear
>>25631375>his father is Poseidon>(in op) told dad about itit seems as if he was insecure, that he postured and asserted he was greater than his father to make his father offended, because offense is more caring than apathy

>>25631963Yeah I figured someone would notice that after I posted it yet I didn’t care enough nearly to correct myself.
